♥ fun...♥

Good morning, friends.
I hope your day is going GREAT.

My morning started off sooo good....
Mr. Sweet and I took our 1 mile walk around the track at the park about
7:30 this a.m.
Way before it got burning hot....

Then, he went to work-out with his good buddy and I mowed the back lawn.
MAN...it was already getting hot by this time.

I decided to fix breakfast and do that front lawn TONIGHT.....well, maybe before dark but LATE....COOLER....

(this photo is the one for YOUR SUNDAY BEST and WEEKLY TOP SHOT)

I set the sprinkler and went inside and made a great breakfast.
Breakfast, being my FAVORITE meal of the day, is nearly always
fairly large at Sweet Nothings.
Then, we eat a very light lunch.....sometimes we just skip lunch all together as we eat breakfast fairly late...
almost BRUNCH.

I decided on Cheesy Scrambled Eggs,
Turkey Bacon
Hot (canned ...*suck in breath) biscuits
Apricot Jam ...sugarless
Hot tea
FRESH FRUIT.

Now, this turkey bacon business.....I can eat and enjoy it only every now and then...
I can eat REAL bacon 3 times a day, 7 days a week.
I LOVE THE STUFF.
It's FUN to drink my tea or coffee from a pretty, dainty cup every now and then
instead of a mug.
I've been thinking a lot about FUN lately.
I've decided that not only does
LOVE makes the world go round....
FUN is a close second.
I try really hard not to take things so seriously.....
even little things ......
like having a fun and cute table instead of every single thing matching.
O, don't get me wrong....
it is also fun to have a beautifully matching tablescape.....
I just happen to prefer the LIGHTER  SIDE  OF  LIFE,  I guess...
especially in this HOT weather.
Fun place mats with CHERRIES all over ....
You don't ALWAYS have to have napkin rings.....
fun, cute RIBBON works so well.
Awesome bandanas come in an array of the cutest designs and colors...
they are also nice and LARGE, making them great to use for napkins.
OOPS.....the shady part of the patio is fading fast....
must hurry and finish breakfast before the 100 degree mark today.
It's supposed to be 105 today...that's HOT, folks.
HOLY COW it's been hot around here all summer long.

Cute little teapot, cute little basket of faux
sunflowers...(I am buying some REAL ones at the market TODAY)
a bowl of REAL fruit...
breakfast on the patio...

all this makes for a
FUN way to start my day.

OOO......SOMETHING ELSE THAT'S FUN....
I have so much fun playing over there....
come over today and play with me.

XOXO, bj

  3. Isn't it fun?! Keep right on exploring...oh the things you will find.

Love these sweet breakfast vignettes. I know what you mean about the turkey bacon...I prefer one brand over all the others and lately, it's not the same anymore. Sometimes it's wicked crunchy.

  13. I am not one for turkey bacon either. I like the real stuff with eggs and Grands Biscuits that have about a zillion calories in them.

    Your brunch sounds great.

  14. Hi sweet BJ!

Oh what a purty breakfast! My hubby and I need to start walking! I want to get bikes for us too. Don't do too much in the heat. It's awful here to in central NJ. I'm a fall and spring girl, and I can't wait for fall! I love that teapot!!

    Hugs,

  15. Such a nice way to enjoy your breakfast ... looks so good. Mr. Z. does not like to eat outside, but I do. Will be enjoyable once this heat goes away. Love your pictures especially the last one of the fresh fruit.

  18. Hey BJ ~ very nice job with the PicMonkey frames.

I bought a heavy ol' cast-iron Dutch oven at an estate sale for $3. On the way out the door a guy saw it and said, "That's good for biscuits!". I thought of you (:

    Oh...I am a red lover...Big Time!
Yes, my master and guest room are in pastels but the rest of my home is filled with lots and lots of red!
What a yummy post...The red pears and that darling chicken perched high above your viddles! Pure cuteness!

  21. I couldn't agree more about fun being something else that makes the world go round. I also agree about a fun table that isn't perfectly matchy.

Yours is definitely FUN. I think I'll have breakfast outside with Mr. Fun this weekend. You've inspired me.

(Let's see if our weather cooperates.)

  22. YOu are right about so many thing BJ! Why worry about everything matching when the real joy is an easy breakfast on the patio in the relative cool of the morning:>)

  23. BJ, I laughed about the turkey bacon comment. My daughter buys turkey bacon for her family. One day my oldest grandson (10) was visiting us and begged me, "Bevie, please cook me some PIG bacon."

    Amen and Amen.

  24. Yummy breakfast, and it is my favorite meal of the day also. And I couldn't agree more about Picmonkey!

  25. Yes it must have been the day for walks, then I rode my bike. Your breakfast looks yummy. Oh how I wish I could eat like that. Did you get the front cut?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Looks tasty and pretty, too. There's nothing like a good breakfast!

  27. Very pretty! We seldome eat outside, here. I have my morning coffee outside sometimes, but as a rule it's too windy to set your plates down. They blow away right along with your food.

  28. BJ, you make everything fun and everything pretty.

Love your table, and your breakfast looks yummy, too.

  32. You always show FUN, on your blog, my Dear. And that makes it a lovely place to come visit. !!!!!!!! "Auntie sezzzzzz..." :-)

Mmmmm, when you go outside, especially early and late in day, do you apply BUG RELEPPENT??? (as in "Deet") I saw scary Yahoo New Link about West Nile Virus Mosquitoes being baddddddddddd in TX. -sigh-

And so as not to think I am smug, up here North... They have been spotted on Staten Island or some such. They-are-coming. Bleahhhh...

Poor "Uncle A."! Now I spray him when he goes outside, whether he wants it or not. Which he doesn't like. But neither does he argue with "Auntie." -grinnnn-

    Gentle hugs,
    "Auntie"

  34. I'm with you about breakfast! Maybe because I love all breakfast food (french toast is my fave!) and I could eat it for every meal. Love your comment about fun--if it isn't fun, why do it? Thanks for sharing!

  35. Oh, no! You're still getting the really, really hot stuff? We have cooled down considerably here in the Kansas City, MO area. Actually, it's supposed to only reach the 70s tomorrow! I am SO happy!!! We can finally breathe again! I hope this cool air finds its way to your doorstep soon. Meanwhile, I'm with you on breakfast...such a happy meal! Starts the day out right! I think we could all eat real bacon in, on, around, stuffed between, and piled on everything, but our conscience gets the best of us as we hear our doctors' voice saying, "Not good for you!" I have come to tolerate the turkey bacon, too, but when it comes to my bacon-wrapped shrimp...gotta have the real deal! Here's hoping for a cooler and very relaxing weekend for you and yours!

  36. That is a fun table for sure!
love bandanas as napkins, found a whole bunch yesterday in a fabric outlet, .50 and made in America, yeah!
    Everything looks delicious!
Thanks for linking up to Let's Dish!

  37. Fun and delicious table BJ.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Back Porch. Things are fairly hectic for us this Summer. Not sure if the house will sell...but thought we would give it a try.

Lots of work getting it ready. My archives are on the sidebar. Just click on the dates and that should take you to the story of the big change in our lives. We want to be closer to our children. Not that far now,but we find ourselves in their neighborhood for everything, including visits, shopping entertainment. This will also get us closer to our doctors and hospital. Right now it is a 100 mile round trip. Yes, definitely time to sell.

  38. Such a cute table. You sure have the right idea about fun! I agree completely about bacon. Sigh... I love eating outside and look forward to cooler temperatures soon.
