a tiny treasure

My violets are beginning to bloom and just as each year,
they are beautiful.
I love the tiny, purple flowers and the bright green leaves
but they only bloom for about 2 weeks out here in West Texas.
The leaves are pretty all summer...
I wonder if they would bloom again if I put MIRACLE GROW on them
?
These pretty flowers won't fade nor stop blooming....
I already had the little vintage  dessert plate that belonged to Mom..
I found the little bowl at the thrift store for 25 cents..
25 CENTS...
it just nearly matches the plate perfectly.
sugar freeness.....
I'm pretty sure I am going to love it forever and ever...

Today, April 10th, is our 51st wedding anniversary....
we are having a party tonight with family and friends.
We were given a cruise to ALASKA for our 50th anniversary last year...
The trip was a gift from our children and grandchildren..
"Thank you again, kids..."
"We loved every single minute of it and are
SO PROUD to still be around to share your love."
We love you,
Mom and Dad

  2. First of all....happy, happy anniversary. What a great trip for you two on that special day last year!! Secondly, since my 'birth' flower is violet, I especially liked all the violets in 'real time' and on your table scape!

  4. Happy Anniversary! Today is my son and daughter-in-law's first anniversary. Love is in the air! Love the violet dishes, but the dessert kept calling my name. What is that lucious concoction?

  5. Happy Anniversary BJ.

This is a beautiful post. We have been very very busy with this and that and appointments, however, we took some time to walk through a park on our way home from J's appt with an endodontist Friday. I have a couple of pictures of wild violets and the dogwood was blooming. Nice little detour in our busy week.

  6. Oh enjoy a sweet and blessed anniversary! Fifty-one years is definitely something to celebrate.

I was shocked to see you two standing in the snow. What did those children do to you West Texans anyway? Couldn't have been too bad as you're still smiling. I'm off to find the archives.

    Have a blast tonight!

  10. Happy Anniversary. It's great to see that after all of those years, you two are still in love.

Your little violets are adorable - both those indoor and outdoors. I used to have a little patch of them, but they seemed to have disapeared. I never see that at nurseries near me either. I'm sure I could get them on line. Thanks for bringing back the memory. Violets are such tender little beauties.

It's great having you be a part of Seasonal Sundays.
