A GOOOOD CAKE and A HAPPY BIRTHDAY






OATMEAL CAKE...

doesn't that sound sooo good for a special treat at
BREAKFAST....?? !!!

and we all know how GOOD FOR YA
oatmeal is.....right?? 


My whole house smelled sooo good...
and this is how it came out of the oven....

all golden and sweet and steamy and making me cut it before it had time to cool...




OATMEAL AND WHIMSY told me to cover this luscious cake with
POWDERED SUGAR.....



but.....but....

I dearly LUV butter on a HOT cake....


...so moist and full of flavor....AND full of PECANS..

if you make this, be SURE to add at least 1 full cup of pecans...
sooo good.

Now, those that know me, might remember that even if the original recipe doesn't call for VANILLA,
I ALways add it...







You have GOT to try this one...

Now, she's gonna tell YOU to put powdered sugar on it , just like she told me....

    BJ...I've got to make this
    Oatmeal Cake for my Dad. He'll be 92 next week! He loves his oatmeal each day, and this surely would be a
    nice treat and a different way for him to enjoy it.
    You're truly blessed with beautiful GrDtrs. I've got a 16 yr old 'handsome' GrSon...and if we lived closer, I'd play 'matchmaker' !! lol

    You have the most beautiful grands! I would have picked the two dark haired girls as twins! The cake sounds so good, of course anything with pecans has to be good. Butter?     I love oatmeal, so I'll definitely give this a try. Oatmeal cookies, oatmeal muffins, oatmeal bread, oatmeal scones....and now oatmeal cake for breakfast. Yummy!

    That looks delicious - and I think it would make good muffins, too. Plus with muffins you could eat a couple and put the rest in the freezer for later.
