The French sure know their Toast....and so does KariAnne

FRENCH TOAST
is one of my most favorite things on this Earth to eat...

For toppings, I like

 MAPLE SYRUP ....
or
POWDERED SUGAR....
or
BLUEBERRIES.....
or
BROWN SUGAR AND PECANS....

that lives over at
THISTLEWOOD FARMS

says that her MOM
uses APPLES to top her FRENCH TOAST.....

and we all know that

MOM KNOWS BEST.....!!

and...of all fruits, APPLES are one of the lesser expensive.

SO....
this morning,
APPLES IT WAS....

HOOOOLY  COW

Talk about some DELICIOUSNESS....

How in the world can one have
THICK  WHOLE  WHEAT FRENCH  BREAD
dipped in egg....
vanilla....
(remember to dab a drop behind each ear)
a little sugar..
salt and pepper....
milk

fried to a golden brown....

smothered in CARAMELIZED APPLES CHUNKS
and.......

NOT add a big, ole dollop of SWEET WHIPPED CREAM, sprinkled with CINNAMON....???

NOT MEEEEE......
no sir ree bob....when i have a can of
PURE WHIPPED GOODNESS
right there in my fridge.....
it IS going on those apples.

and we all love BEFORE and AFTER pictures....

  8. We love sauteed apples on our french toast or pancakes. The apple farm here charged 41.00 a bag, about 20 lbs. It is getting ridiculous. An apple a day keeps the doc away, and now we won't be able to afford the apples either!
Hope you are well, BJ! Your breakfast looks delicious!

  9. Well, from this post, I can see why NanaDiana comes here often. Just wanted to pop over and tell you that I loved the Loni Anderson wig comment you left on her blog.
I was thinking on pancakes for this weekend, but I am going to take this idea and run with it! That looks so good.
Have a great day and thanks for making me giggle!

  12. My mom used to make sauteed apples like this for us for breakfast when we were kids and I LOVED them. They're good on just about anything, or just as a side, but french toast definitely takes the cake. Yum, yum!

I'm now following your blog. Love that french toast idea. My grandkids love apples and I'm betting we can put a few on the next toast.
