I nearly always have extra EASTER candy left over....
yep...
I always buy too much.....you know....just in case one of the grandgirls brings a fella over....or someone just drops by....
and candy, wrapped in brightly colored paper always looks so pretty in a clear candy bowl...
WELL...all of my candy bowls are packed away SOMEwhere and all I could find is this clear
CANDLE HOLDER...
Have you ever used a candle holder for CANDY...???
.....meee, either...
until NOW
For the first time in my 6 years of blogging, I am having a hard time
coming up with something worthwhile to blog about.
No dishes around for tablescapes...
a lot of furniture gone so NO NESTING or FLUFFING going on....
I am staying AWAY from thrift shops as I don't want ONE MORE THING to pack...
just not much going on here that is pretty enuf to post.
BUT....
I'll KEEP LOOKING !! :>)

That is a very pretty candle holder, I love the base.
ReplyDeleteI put candy in anything, but mostly my mouth! :) And it shows!
Good idea for the candy holder BJ.
ReplyDeleteGlad you posted. I always enjoy reading what you are up to.
Have a great evening. Blessings.... Becky
I think it looks pretty in the candleholder! The thing I can't wrap my head around is the concept of leftover candy....;>)
ReplyDeleteSo do you have all your stuff in boxes, just unpacking into the new place???
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the candy in your candle holder!
xoxo
Looks pretty! You just might start a new trend!
ReplyDeleteOh...this is so sweet! Did you know you can freeze the candy? Not that we have any left here to freeze! lol!
ReplyDeleteBJ, I wonder what I'm going to blog about everyday and my home is jam packed! Just keep your camera with you at all times and remember, we love to hear from you even if it's just about the weather!
XO,
Jane
Tell us anything...doesn't matter. I know how that feels. I either have so much to talk about or nothing!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so excited for you and your upcoming move, so I hope you just post about anyting at all. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteLove your creativity, dear friend!!! That bunny wouldn't last 2 seconds around "Mr. Ed"!!!
Now about those needed photos for your blog...I haven't seen your front porch in a while!!! Just a thought!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I do not keep a candy dish as I would eat too much. Some things you just have to stop buying when you have no resistance. Never fear your mind is constantly in a whirlwind of ideas. You will come up with some bright ideas. Selling a house requires a lot of work and patience. Hang in the right person will show up.
ReplyDeleteYour candy dish looks great BJ! You'll be all settled before you know it:@)
ReplyDeleteThat does look sweet and so creative!
ReplyDeleteCute idea -- and we love hearing from you no matter what you're up to!
ReplyDeleteYou just need a few words thrown at us daily to keep us happy! You know I love you whether you have a big post or not. Your candy "candle" dish works great! Hmmmm..would that be a candylabra? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea bj. I have never, but I will now. I think the candy looks pretty in a clear glass container, so you can see the treats! When you bring home and unpack all your boxes it will be like Christmas.......

Well bj ... that is a pretty neat candy dish and your flowers still look good. Always good to see what you are up to with not much going on at your house. Wish that was true around here.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Been there done that, although it was before I even knew what a blog was. I would have had a lot to blog about with six months of renovation going on, with me living here through it all! Chillax, I am sure you will get ideas, and then get all moved in, and posts will be flying outta the new place! xo
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it all finished BJ. Your candle holder looks fine as a candy dish. have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSherry
bj I think the candle holder makes a fine candy dish! I know you are anxious to sell your house and move on to the next phase of your lives!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Great candy dish. Soon that house will be sold and you will have so much to post. Just hang in there.

I was seeing the thumb in my blog's sidebar and thinking "what does BJ means with "I can't find a pretty candy bowl..."? why doesn't she uses the candleholder - which is gorgeous btw?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you did. That's the only side of moving I don't like. Last time I moved I had two weeks to put the home right for my daughter's Christening yay.
But you'll move to a wonderful place and next year around this time the pretty candy bowl will he empty ahahahahah
Enjoy the weekend,
Teresa
Go take pictures of your new house for us! Doesn't matter if it is empty. Tell us what you plan or would like to do in each room.
ReplyDeleteThere you go! That should keep you busy blogging and dreaming for a long time.
What a beautiful idea! And you can fit more candy. The larger, the better! LOL Love all your post, big or small! You are just a pleasure to be around!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea!! I had candy leftover and I had to hide it or I would eat it!!
ReplyDeleteI know it's frustrating for you to have all your schtuff packed away. I only had kitchen items boxed for a few months (and they were right in the next room for goodness sake...) and I was all topsy turvy. Don't know what my excuse is now, but I'm having trouble with that whole blog worthiness thing too.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I find candy in a pretty container of ANY sort pretty worthy. Ha!
Just pop in and say HI:) That is what I do sometimes! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea. Have a blessed day and a great weekend. Madeline
ReplyDeleteBlogging isn't ALL about the photos!
ReplyDeleteTo me, blogging is ALL about sharing peeks into our lives, with our blogging friends.
You are in a unique situation right now. A very unique situation. Tell us about it! Tell us what it feels like, to be sort-of-inbetween-homes, like you are.
Does it get on your nerves, to have to live READY to show your house, all the time? Does it get on your nerves, to have to keep the pantry, with not much in it, because of selling? How about the nerve wracking-ness of always having to have EVERYTHING spotlessssss? Yikes! :-)
This is a very unique view, you can give. Share this time, with us. And just snap a pic of this or that! This or that!
No need for a special table setting or new completed project.
Share what's happening. No one but you, can tell this tale, now. I for one, would love to 'hear all about it'... It is so, so, so unique.
"Auntie"
I think the candy looks great in the candle holder! That chocolate bunny would be missing his ears if he were in my house. Ha! I always eat the ears first. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you quit blogging just cause you can't come up with something. We'd miss your smiles and hellos.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, my friend. Hopefully, you will be at the unpacking point soon. You know what they say about necessity and invention, and you found a great solution.
ReplyDeleteYou have a SERIOUS problem if you have leftover candy at this point
ReplyDeleteWHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU
Now, I've got that same candle holder, and never thought to use it that way! Thanks for the cute tip!
ReplyDeleteThe colorful foiled candy looks very pretty in the candle holder. Yesterday we had a little egg hunt here for our grandson. I put a pretty foil covered chocolate in each egg. Big mistake. My grandson is used to sharing whatever he is snacking on with our little Pomeranian. Our Pom is also used to this arrangement. I had to be on guard the whole time that Fuzzy didn't get any chocolate. Today he found and almost opened a candy filled egg that had somehow gotten away from my grandson. Luckily I caught Fuzzy before he ate the chocolate. Next year's eggs will have some other kind of surprise in them.
ReplyDeleteI have always found your blog posts to be interesting. I've lost count of how many times your food posts have inspired what we've had for dinner. It's always fun hearing what you are doing.
HPS you creative thing you!!! That was a brilliant idea to use your candle holder as a candy dish!!!
ReplyDeleteI purposedly took every stinkin' bit of foil covered temptation to my son and DIL's house last Sunday. I have NO willpower when it's hanging around our house!!
Hope you have a great weekend!!
