So What if it's not HOMEMADE....

Hello, dear hearts...

I've been noticing lots of ladies...probably WORKING ladies, that's mentioned they really want to give HOMEMADE goodies to some family and friends at this joyful time of year.... but just DON'T HAVE THE EXTRA TIME needed to bake or cook.....
...been there......done that !!

Well, ladies, these little loaves of GOODNESS comes from my local GROCERY STORE BAKERY and they are DELIGHTFUL and DELICIOUS.
Different flavors for different folks !!
They are moist with plenty of flavor....
and they are UNDER $4.00 a loaf.
I can tell you that I keep several in my freezer at all times.
At Christmas, they tie little bits of RED and GREEN on the package
but you can add your own decorations.
They not only taste great...look how pretty they become on a
GLASS CAKEPLATE...(especially good-lookin' with BLACK and WHITE around :)

I've tucked these little LOAVES OF GOODNESS
into a cute little Christmas basket, nestled in green Christmas paper and a pretty tag attached.

....just remember...it's just knowing you thought of them that is the MAIN gift. :)
Just look around in your grocery store bakery and you
will see that there's all kinds of delicious and pretty items,
just waiting to go to some of your family and friends.
 THIS particular loaf is
LEMON CRANBERRY
and it is MORE than good....
just delicious

There's CRANBERRY ORANGE and BANANA NUT and CHOCOLATE CHIP....
and several more...and they are ALL good.
Sooo, guess what I'm trying to say is
don't stress out because you can't find time to do
excessive cooking and baking.
If you want a homespun gift, check your stores...
bakeries tend to be more expensive for baked goods and
most aren't as tasty as these little loaves I've shown you.

I have received these or the awesome Christmas cookies from the
grocery store bakery and was just thrilled to death..
because they were tasty, because I received a Christmas hug from a friend
and tickled to death that I was on her FRIENDS Christmas list.
So will your friend be thrilled...
o, and don't forget THE HUG.
♥ ♥ ♥
You are going to have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS....
I just KNOW it.
Love and Kisses and Hugs...AND MANY

  2. That looks delicious BJ. I have taken bread from Panera before and wrapped it with a dish towel for a gift. It's so easy and wonderful. I'll have to check out my Tom Thumb for baked goods...no Panera here.

  5. Hi Bj, There is nothing better. I have been buying my bread that way, slicing it and packaging it just the right size for me since hubby is in the nursing home. It doesn't go to waste that way. Your cranberry loaf sure does sound yummy. I had a cinnamon roll this morning for breakfast that I had got from the bakery. Pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. Yummy with a cup a coffee. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend.

  7. With it just being the two of us here in Florida I prefer to buy already made rather than keeping loads of baking products around. They sure make pretty gifts.

  9. Your post couldn't have come at a better time. We do Christmas with our family on the 15 and my hubby and I came down with the flu, and yes we had the flu shots. Aches and pains, cough and weak. I am going to take your advice and see what I can find. Thanks.

  11. Good tip...one really can't buy the ingredients and bake them off for much cheaper than that. Not to mention that time is money. I'm going to take a twirl through my bakery section next time I'm at the market, even if it's for my hospitality freezer as you do.

  12. Hi BJ, this is very good advice. I am not stressing out this year. Keeping it simple and easy peasy, keeping it more about Christ than commercialism. Thanks for your warm thoughts! xo

  13. Yum! There is a store here, or rather sandwich shop that sells Apple Carmel Bread! I am making it this year! Yum! Tastes like Autumn goodness! I also make an orange bread. It is a pain in the butt because you have to cut up the orange slices candies and roll them in a little flour so they don't stick! But it is a bread recipe I have had for 30 years and everyone loves it! Then my co worker Monica, bad influence (LOL)makes strawberry banana bread! Like heaven in a slice! Sigh! I work full time but find a minute or two to bake! I just pull out my big whip and make the phamily help me out! Ha Ha!
But when I need easy I do it too! Great ideas and love your sweet treats! Hugs Anne

  17. Hey if your asked "did you make this".. you don't have to lie, just mention how you found these cute little boxes, bags, etc to put them in and that's the end of the story..
    Nothing wrong with that!
Love your idea and although I have a few little baked goods stored all ready in the freezer I may just go buy some..lol

  26. That's a great idea! A lot of people get so stressed out trying to make everything themselves but most people just love that you thought enough of them to get them a gift - even if it isn't handmade. I'd be happy to receive something like this.

  31. Oh, that looks delicious, BJ! How I miss cakes, cookies and pies this time of year since I've been gluten free. I have got to find a gluten free pound cake mix that I can add some of these things to. Lemon and cranberry sounds wonderful!
