There are many organizations that offer help to these victims of Sandy.
One way to help is by donating to the Red Cross. All donations will
provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those
affected by the storm. To donate, visit www.redcross.org, call 800-Red-Cross or text the word "Redcross" to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
GOD BLESS US ALL.....

Wonderful post BJ.
God Bless.
Excellent post BJ!
So sad. It will be a long time rebuilding for so many. I did donate to the Red Cross last week.
Yes, though we don't hear much anymore on the news, it is good to keep the word out there. You're a tender spirit.
Amen, bj. It is hard to think about that, isn't it, when we are all so warm and dry and well-fed? I wish I could help more- xo Diana
So right, BJness! My heart goes out to these folks. Even though we didn't get damage at our house, 4 years ago with hurricane Ike hit us, the pictures I see look just like Galveston. But I think summer time has to be easier than the cold weather for the folks. We have so much to be thankful for. My prayers are with them. You do have such a sweet spirit. Blessings to you and your family at Thanksgiving.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Excellent post. The news seems to have just stepped past the disaster. We need to keep the plight of people whose lives are still being affected in our thoughts, prayers, and actions.
The media has been very busy picking, pecking and crowing about more salacious, ratings-boosting stories this week. But, come to think about it, we are lucky to live in a country where news coverage of military/political figures is allowed. I just wish they wouldn't lose sight of everything else.
Many are still in such terrible conditions. Yes, I think of this.
Seems almost impossible, to we lucky ones.
And it's off the News Radar now... With so many others topics, to grab News attention. Thank you for keeping it in our minds.
-sigh-
Your are so right bj. These people are desperate for help and the Red Cross is a wonderful way to help! Your photos tell the story.

Hello! Yes, this is the same Helen who wrote "Living Boldly" a while back. I found trying to manage both blogs was way too complicated and time consuming .... so, I let that one go to concentrate more on poetry. Not that I have any talent whatsoever, I really enjoy the way it exercises my brain.
We all need to do whatever possible to help ... I contributed during the NBC sponsored concert and hope even that little bit has helped. This is certainly the time of year more folks suffer from lack of food and shelter.
Happy Thanksgiving BJ
Amen BJ. Have a blessed day. Madeline
Great reminder. They are all in my prayers. Hugs, Marty
Yes, it is pretty bad, BJ. So many of the people who lost their small homes were elderly and as they had lived there so many years , they had paid them off, so had no insurance.
They have no idea where they will go, so many now becoming homeless.
Thanks for the reminder!
Your NY friend, who miraculously escaped terrible damage!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Great reminder, my thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of Sandy!
Thanks for the reminder dear friend:( HUGS to you and prayers for ALL to recover from this disaster!
Thanks for keeping the word out there and the need for help alive. We get caught up in are own lives and forget what happened yesterday.
XO,
Jane
Wonderful, wonderful, reminder. I am trying to appreciate every single piece of warmth and comfort I have and not forget those who suffer without it. It breaks my heart.
BJ, thank God for your kind spirit to remind us all of our blessings and of those needing our help.♥
