O, I dunno.........I'M A LITTLE RUSTY ♥

There seems to be a LOT of ladies around our sweet Blogland that just loves.........RUST.

Some actually DECORATE with it and,
you know what.....
when you know what you're doing, RUST can really be AWESOME.

Now, around Sweet Nothings, with MR. SWEET having so many OLDEN tools and such, there is a
WHOLE LOT OF RUST lying around....

Most of it, I have NO IDEA what they are....
take this rusty whatever hanging on our work bench fence (that olden fence is REALLY olden)...
NOPE.....NO IDEA.
Somehow, I CAN see the beauty in this over-sized metal WRENCH...
I just may take it in the house....:) Maybe not ! :)
Some talented gal would take this STEEL WIRE BRUSH
inside, stick some adorable CARDS in and around it and it would probably make
ME want to do it....
hmmmmmmm

I think THESE rusty whatevers are just plain cute hanging on that nail, up against the olden wood fence with shadows playing all around it....

But they would NOT look this good on a plain white wall inside a house.

Someone with some imagination could come up with something cute to do with them but......not MOI.
Now, I have to say....THIS piece of rust WILL go into my house...
very shortly, too.

I'm thinkin' it would be awesome in either a soft white or a Paris Gray
and installed in a guest bedroom.
It's a FULL size so the couple that sleeps in a King will feel that CLOSENESS again.
*blushing

Why does this rusted HAMMER have that REGAL  look to me.......?

O, and see those knot holes....I sometimes peek thru to see if
 MR. SWEET is REALLY working....shhhhh
An olden wrench that belonged to his daddy......
I think most of these olden tools were his dad's.
Pretty cool, actually........
Do YOU decorate with RUST ?
If so, tell us how you do it.

I entered a
RUST CHALLENGE
once over at
FUNKY JUNK INTERIORS....

It was so much fun...
and I got mentioned here.
If you would, when you go over, would you tell DONNA, bj said HEY ....
THANKS...

I used a rusty SIGN...
and a rusted metal
SOMETHING
for my candles.
O, and a rusty chain inside one of my BLUE jars...
PURE  FUN....♥♥♥
...we should do that again sometime....

  4. I can admire rust almost as much as many others, but I have to agree, I prefer my rusty artifacts to decorate outside or in the garage.
I do get a kick out of some of those posts we all see where some sweet blogger is thrilled with a rusty tool or bucket find. Makes me all the happier about those things I forgot out in the snow last year.

  5. I don't think I have anything rusty in my house but outside I do. I have several old things hanging on my back porch. The birds love to perch on them. My favorite rusty thing to see is old barns with tin roofs.

  7. Yes! Rust is big!!! ,-)

My husband has his father's tools too. And collects old tools, where/when he can. :-)

You show your ability to envision how something-will-look, when you do those vinettes with rusty things. Me, I don't seem to have been born with the gene, to envision house decoration. -sigh-

Oh well... No need to cry over that. -grin-

  8. What a cute post bj. I'm with you here, I love what the young talented bloggers are doing with old rusty pieces and I love it. I wouldn't know where to begin! Love you bed and can't wait to see it painted. Love your vignette with the rusty sign and blue jar. I have to say how I love the swing and lawn scene in your header, so summertime!

  9. You have me stymied wondering what that first item is BJ!

  10. See, I'm not a fan of rust unless it is outdoors. I do display a wrench on John's bookshelf, but that's about it. Your rusty chain around a delicate aqua bell jar looks pretty cool. It must be the contrasts.

  11. bj you and Mr Sweet have some of the best rust!! Love it outside and inside for some folks but it wouldn't go in my home I'm afraid. I'm just getting into the rust a little here and there...outside of course! Hugs, Linda

  12. Yes bj, we have rust around here but not so much. Love all your rusty pics. HA! I do like rust on some things but mostly I do not. This is a fun post idea. I loved it and you.

  13. It's kinda of funny that we think rust has decorative value, but we do! I have a stash of rusty bed springs just waiting for the right time and place to make their debut. Fun post.

  16. When I read your post title, "I'm A Little Rusty", I thought, "me, too". In fact, I am feeling particular rusty today.

But, it turns out your are showing us fun rust. Leave it to you to make it pretty, BJ.

  17. BJ,
I love your "rusty" vignette! Those rusty tools of "Mr. Sweet's" are charming! Perhaps if you had a hearth to arrange them on...especially with Fall leaves and pumpkins!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  18. We have lots of rusty tools and things but I would never have thought to do a cute post about them. I suppose that's the difference in someone who is imaginative-- and me! In fact, some of our tools are like yours so I will have to copy cat you if you display them in some creative way. Take care, BJ. ----------- Shannon

  19. Love your post... and I like rusty stuff outdoors... I've never really used it though... and now that I live in an apartment there's no place for it! Hopefully one day, when we have our own home I'll use some rust to accent my garden! ;) Thanks for sharing!

  22. I love all your rusty "stuff". My rusty stuff is mostly outside, too. MyHero does NOT like rust...at all. I think it reminds him of all the things he left outside as a youngest that rusted before they crumbled to dust.... Anyway, it is fun to see rusty items in other peoples' homes and yards. xo Diana

  23. Such artistic installations!..I know know why rust is so popular - in the garden, anyway...

  24. I know this lady named bj who could probably make this rusty goodness look great inside. It sure looks pretty outside!

  25. Neat stuff!
No, I am not into rust, but burlap makes me itch, so I am not on the burlap wagon either, lol!
I would be soaking all those rusty things in Coca Cola to make it go away! :)

  26. I like rust so much I married it. The story goes hubs dad took one look at his rusty truck and said, "Name him Rusty." And they did.

  29. I used to like rusty things a lot more than I do now. Not sure why that is. I still have some though..like the other day.
I went out and bought a rusty old lantern to hang on my patio. Love it! So..yes..I guess I do still like rusty old stuff. :)
Nice to see you back again. What a great vacation you had! I vacationed at home this year. :)

  32. BJ I have some old rusted tools in the shed out back that belonged to my grandfather. Guess it is time to display in the back yard.
