Dieting isn't ALL bad.....

I've found that if you spend a little time shopping and preparing
LOW FAT
SUGAR FREE
and LOW CALORIE
things to eat, you can come up with some tasty dishes.
I like EGG BEATERS more than EGGS, so we have been using a lot of it.
Fresh veggies and NO FAT cheese, scrambled into the egg beaters is very good.
I like tomato juice so was happy to learn during that first 2 weeks of the South Beach Diet
that we could have a small glass of it with our morning meal....or for a snack during the day.
*I've read and read that SBD book and no where does it allow a
MILKY WAY candy bar
for an afternoon snack ! !
so...I stick a celery stick in the juice and play like it's a BLOODY MARY.
A couple days a week, we could have CANADIAN  BACON....
Mr. Sweet had 2 slices......I had one.

Remember, I told you I made
PEANUT BUTTER cookies using SPLENDA.

Since we can have a TableSpoon of
peanut butter daily.....no flour......artificial sweetener and EGGS, this recipe is PERFECT
for dieters.

I haven't gone on line to Splenda's website but I understand you can use it in most of the recipes you might want to try.

I am planning to make a vanilla cake with FUDGE icing, IF I can find a recipe using the artificial sweetener.
I'll be sure to let you know........:))

Most of the sweeteners leave an aftertaste
that I DON'T LIKE....I've been trying them all and, so far, Splenda seems to work best for me.

(ACTUALLY...I hate all their guts but a person's gotta do what a person that wants to look nice in shorts this summer's gotta do ! ! !
ON THIS PARTICULAR MORNING, I woke up really CRAVING
WAFFLES...
I didn't have whole wheat flour (it's on my groc. list)
we had eaten every egg that all the chickens on the planet had produced  we had,
and the milk had clabbered because we couldn't drink it for 2 weeks.
....no canned WHOLE WHEAT biscuits to make into waffles....
do they even MAKE canned whole wheat biscuits?
SOOOO.......
I pulled out all the GOOD FOR YOU foods I had..
Brummel and Brown spread instead of butter..
FAT FREE cheese...
multi grain thin bread slices....
98% FAT FREE HAM....
and the BEST
SUGAR FREE SYRUP
I've ever tasted.
Ya'll, be SURE to try this one.  IHOP...on your grocery shelf.
NO FUNNY AFTER TASTE at all.
I made myself a SORT OF PANINI.

May I just say.........

O HONEY

 Paired with fresh STRAWBERRIES..
and a little of that good IHOP syrup,
it was a mighty delicious and very HEALTHY breakfast.
I'm dropping a few lbs...
Mr. Sweet is doing REALLY well....
We'll work on this until he's lost a significant  amount and his
heart doctor will be so pleased.....
and so will his HEART.
 PANINI.....
Waffle Style
It works !!

  1. BJ, you two are in inspiration! Good for you for sticking to the SBD and supporting your husband by making delicious things for him. There's nothing worse than feeling deprived!

  2. I just found bags of half domino sugar and stevia at Big Lots for two dollars. I am using it for my coffee. Five calories a half tsp. I am not baking anything right now. I drink lots of coffee. I find stevia to be super sweet.

  3. Lucky you to have your hubby eating healthy along with you. It is so much easier when you have a partner.

  4. Oh my. If I find some of that IHop syrup, I'll definitely buy it. Aftertaste is nasty so that's why I stick with Splenda even though many people say Stevia is better for one.

  6. Good for you both!! I've been talking about that soup diet for a week now and just can't bring myself to do it!! I agree, low fat, no sugar, low calorie (and don't forget Exercise) is the way to go!! Keep up the good work, you're gonna knock the socks of that Dr.!

  7. I try to avoid sugar and artificial sweeteners but they seem to find me!! That waffle panini looks very good. I have bought a whole wheat mix for pancakes and have used a maple flavored agave for syrup. Very good and all natural. xo

  9. Love the waffle style paninni! My waffle irons are all round, though. It might make funny looking sandwiches. But - I prefer waffles anyway. Hopefully, I never have a health issue requiring a special diet because I like my junk!

  13. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. Well, don't really have any shortcuts when it comes to participating in blog parties :) I just write my blog entry and copy all the party names from a previous entry (that's my shortcut!)and then I go to my blog party page and from there I open up the party, add the blog link so it's easy to find the party on the day... I visit the blog with the party, copy the party link into my blog entry and finally I link up to the party - a bit time consuming, but a lot of fun! :D
    Greetings from Australia♥

  17. Congratulations are in order - you two are sticking together that make the diet work (love is beautiful together :)

Canadian bacon is quite lean and works well by me anyway! The real ting that helps is paying attention to the intake. With your great attitude and foodie talents, good taste and good eats work out together so well!

  18. You're doing so well, I admire your will power! I will admit to looking at the tomato juice and thinking it would be great with a shot of Vodka though:@)
PS-can you still add a little hot sauce to it for fun?

  21. Way to make the eating plan work for you both, bj! I'm not crazy about the artificial sweeteners either, but am enduring them in an effort to lose some weight also. Thanks for the heads up about the syrup; I'll keep an eye out for that for sure.

  22. That all looks so delicious that it's hard to even say "diet" while looking at it. I'll have to try that brand of sugar free syrup.

  31. Good for you! When I do WW I find it best not to talk about it, put it out of my mind! I worked with women who talked points till you could scream! They never seemed to lose weight or if they did, gained it back, as we all know it is forever, not a month or year.
I need to do it. Dh wants no part of it, he eats whatever he wants and never gains a lb!
It makes it easier if you are both following it.
If they banned alcohol forever I wouldn't care,I never touch the stuff, mwasted calories, but dessert, oh no!
I do like those sugar free jello choc puddings, a dab of cool whip. Satisfies the choc crave. Can you have that?

  33. waffles look delicious. I have lost about 40 something pounds. I have learned I do not cut anything out. WHen I want a candy bar I buy a peppermint patty because it is only 120 calories, I keep the no sugar added ice cream sandwiches in the freezer or the no sugar added fudge pops, I have just learned to change my cooking and exercise more and I still have dessert :) That is the only way I could stick-to my diet

  34. Just started the low carb for DH and I. First day today, so we'll see how it goes. I need to take off 20 lbs and 2 months is the goal I have set. This looks soooooooo good. Thanks for sharing on TTT. Hugs, Marty
