Tweaking and fluffing...is there no end ?

You might remember that I just bought these two VERY inexpensive chairs a few weeks back....
and covered the olden ottoman in a claret Surefit ottoman slipcover.
Now...
I love my reds.
I truly do.....
but red is a very warm color so I love being able to take most of my reds
OUT of the room (this is why I LUV creamy white walls) in the hot weather and go
with something that looks COOLER.
(I am dying to add touches of the fabulous and delicious TURQUOISE color for coolness)
daughter, STACY, and I were out shopping one day and
I saw this wicker storage ottoman and FELL IN LOVE.
I love the clean look of it...plus having a great storage place for those warm throws.
I added some cute candles....
my $3.00 ceramic CAMEL
and this awesome little faux PALM from KIRKLANDS
and I am going back to see if they have another..
I'd love one in my hallway.
Right now, ANYthing that will store something is on
MY HIGH FIVE LIST....!!

I also like the texture of the basket and the smoothness of the FAUX leather top.

Ya know, before BLOGGING, I never gave 'texture' much thought. Just didn't occur to me that rooms needed
rough
smooth
dull
and bright......light and dark.
....and that things looked better in odd numbers....
 I just LOVE knowing that.........
but I HAVE always known that ......
IF YA LIKE IT....it's right for you.

AND.....I like my new little ottoman.

Don't ya love moving things around a bit....
or getting a "somethin' new" that you really like ?....MEEE, TOO !
The good thing is...

If I WANT to add a touch of red in the summertime....

I can
BRING OUT THE STRAWBERRIES.
 ♥ ♥ ♥

XOXO bj

  3. Ohh, I love it! What a major difference such a small change makes, eh?
I too love to rearrange things every now and then. It freshens things up and makes old things seem new again.

  6. It's always lovely here, BJ. I don't think about texture enough. Thanks for mentioning it. I have known that things look better in threes or fives or sevens. Your ottoman is perfect looking and an added bonus is the storage. That red is great for cold days, which I'm sure a long gone for you now.

  12. Love the room! I'd really like a better look at those white book shelves, though. Are they built in or a special find you found somewhere? I'm wanting to put bookcases in an upstairs room - someday and they would be perfect.... I think. I just need a closer look. Now you have something else to blog about... book shelves! :-)

  49. Ooo...I want one just like that. We have been looking for one for my husband to "park" in front of the couch where he sits. Our sofas are dark brown leather and so far, what we have seen that will blend are way...out of our budget. I love your room!
