Things go better with COKE

This cute little vintage glass measures just over four inches high...
tiny little thing.....and, YEP.......it's BEER glass and not a COKE glass...:))

I bought about 4 or 5 little glasses, different patterns, at a garage sale several summers back.
They are perfect for a quick drink of water and REALLY perfect for OJ in the mornings.
I just ran over to WALMART and while standing in the check-out line,
I noticed these TEENY TINY LITTLE BITTY
canned COKES.
90 calories of  PURE GOODNESS...
I had to have the cute things...
and they are the same height as the little 4" glass...
....too cute.

I THOUGHT I would make us
 some COKE FLOATS with
some of these little gems
but, they were gone in nothing flat....
except for ONE...*shhhhhh
I have plans for IT.

When my kids were little, and also
the grandkids, I kept the little GLASS
bottles of cokes in the fridge all the time.
                       ♥ ♥ ♥
I still have this olden, metal
bottle opener, on the wall, right
beside the fridge.
I have always thought coke tasted much better out of a glass bottle than the plastic......or the cans....and I still buy the small glass bottles when I know some of the grands are going to be here.
I don't drink much coca cola any more......EXCEPT when we want an Ice Cream float......O BABY !

I sure hope ya'll have a 'COKE CAN FULL OF BLOOMS' kind of day....
It is 79 degrees here today (3/1/12)
Mr. Sweet is out playing golf with a grandson, BRYAN, and
I...........well.........I am about to have a COKE FLOAT.

  1. And a sweet day to you too. It is 72 and sunny here, and we think it is summer today. Your tiny Coke cans are cute, and your glasses.

  2. I love the little cans of soda - just enough of a serving for me! And that bottle opener brings back memories!

  3. Cute! We can't drink sodas ... but those empty cans look darling filled with spring blooms.

    Have a great week.

  4. Wow. That's nice and warm down there...no wonder you need a coke. We're going to hit fifty degrees this week and we'll think it very warm.

  5. We made it to 72 or so my computer says! But it is so windy, I can't tell.
I use to drink alot of coke and I would LOVE to have one, but I gave it up. It added do much weight on me. Now I feel better without it. Plus my hands and feet aren't so swollen. If I do give in and have one, I swell up like mad!

In one of my old magazines, there was an ad for a fridge that had a bottle opener on it. How cool is that? I guess there isn't much need for one now.

BTW, Coke taste better in those glass bottles, doesn't it?

  8. How cute is that!!!? I love those little miniatures, too, Bj...and I always bought bottles when our kids were young. You are right-it just tastes better coming out of a glass bottle. It is hard to find them here anymore.

I hope you have a good evening and don't have to share your LAST COKE! xo Diana

  13. My mother loved the small bottles of coke. She said they just had a better taste than the large ones. I agree that everything goes better with Coke. There is one exception: Moon Pies go better with R.C.!!

I'm having fun because my Lubbock friend is in town!!

    Best,

  19. We used to have a grain elevator near where we lived when I was growing up. All the farmers came and hung out in the office. They had little coke bottles.....I think for 5 cents. My Mama bought me 7 new pairs of undies with the days of the week on them when I was 2. I put all 7 on.....nothing else and walked down to the grain elevator. I crossed the railroad tracks and walked about 3 football fields. The man at the grain elevator called my Mama and asked if she was missing anything.

  20. Oh BJ Sweetie...
I simply adore these little cans of Coke. They are the perfect vase for a little garden picking, I do believe they are. Who would have thought?

You are so creative dear one. I am so happy that you managed to save one little can for a coke float. Aren't they the best ever? What a treat that was as a kid. Especially over home made ice cream.

We are still sitting at 82 degrees at 7:00pm. A beautiful day, and yes I worked all day. Darn it.

Have a glorious evening sweet one. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  21. I remember bottle openers like that - just perfect for the classic 6 oz bottles. Except when we were kids, we drank Kool-Aid - Cokes only on the most special of occasions (too expensive for seven kids :)

  22. It's amazing that the olden bottle opener still has some of its original red paint. I'm impressed!

  23. I never see the sweet little bottles anymore and I do agree that it tastes better than out of a can or plastic. And this little half can makes a cute little vase!

Your weather sounds fabulous. 35 degrees and windy today. I had to do grocery shopping in it! ;(

  24. I like Coke floats but I LOVE ROOT BEER ones even better!!

My Granny used to keep Cokes in the glass bottles in her fridge at all times. However, they were NEVER for the grandkids! They were for HER!

Last summer I had Dublin Dr Peppers in glass bottles for my grandkids. Little did I know the Dublin plant was soon to close. No more DUBLIN Dr Peppers!! I have ONE tiny bottle left! I should open it and ENJOY it! I probably
    won't, though.....

Love the new look on your blog!

  31. Hi, Your post caught my attention because my dad worked his entire life (minus 4 1/2 yrs in the Pacific during WWII) for Coca-Cola Bottling. He retired as one of the VP's in NY state. Coke floats were always served at home, hehe. In fact in later years when hubby and I went back to Albany to visit my parents we had "coke parties". Growing up my dad, mom and I would go out to a restaurant and my dad would order Coke and they would bring it in a glass and he then would ask for Coke in the bottle. You know how kids can be, I was always mortified when he did that, but what I would give today to have one more time with my dad and Coke in the bottle. Wonderful post! Blessings.

  37. I LOVE diet coke. So much so that I'm trying to cut down and it's difficult. I buy those small cans frequently, just to keep me from drinking so much of the stuff.

I have a bottle opener just like yours. It's a real old one too. Never had a coke float - only root beer. I'll have to try one.

  38. Love that vintage bottle opener BJ! I agree coke tastes better in a glass bottle than can of plastic. your float is very tempting.

  40. You have the nerve to tell me that it's hot like that over there...it's 27F here! lol I shouldn't complain since for the last few days it was -17F!!!

Those coke cans are just too cute, I've never seen them small like that. I've seen the small bottles but not cans. I was never a big pop drinker except I do enjoy a root beer once in a while. As for a float, I think I've only had one in my life!!!! Hmmmm, I've got root beer and I've got vanilla ice cream.....might just make myself one today:-) xoxo

  41. I've never seen such cute little coke cans. Just the right size! Sometimes the regular size cans are too much and the soda ends up going flat.

    Blessings,
