A rainy day morning...

{{{{ RAIN }}}}
This good rain was in SEPTEMBER....about an inch..
hoping for more in OCTOBER...so far...nothing but a few light..showers.
Now...it's NOVEMBER and nothing .....but
IT IS IN THE FORECAST for this week....

We lost a big part of our grass thru the summer but I can re-seed it next year.
It will be just fine...

Denzel Washington
"There is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don't need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain."
Audrey Hepburn
"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain."
Dolly Parton
"And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow"
Gilbert K. Chesterton.
"The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain."

Michael W. Smith
"Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man's growth without destroying his roots."
Frank Howard Clark
This beautiful flag has flown, every day,  in the month of Sept......in remembrance   of  9/11/2001.
TODAY, it rests in it's porch corner during the MAGNIFICENT RAIN....

Rain makes me hungry...wonder why?
We love these little frozen hash browns...:)

"I don't believe in pessimism. If something doesn't come up the way you want, forge ahead.
If you think it's going to rain, it will."
Clint Eastwood

"I love going to the feed store and drinking coffee and talking about how much rain we need."
Thomas Haden Church
and my personal favorite.......
"Save a boyfriend for a rainy day - and another, in case it doesn't rain."  ♥♥♥   MAE WEST
OOO, that MAE WEST was my kinda woman...

  1. What a neat post. Gotta tell you- I have always loved Mae West's quotes. She was just sooo outrageous at a time when most women did NOT speak up. Love her spunk. We had rain here today, too. xo Diana

  17. I giggled about your rain post and losing part of your yard. When we lived in Texas I loved it when it rained! It's only October and already I've had enough rain and know I have till May, darn it! Although I live in Oregon, we also lost part of our yard this summer and had to lay new sod. It's always something, huh?

  18. We are expecting rain today and your rain post made me smile. I don't mind the rain, especially if we need it and we most certainly need it now. So dry and it was hot yesterday. A nice rain will bring a cool down for the weekend, and its suppose to be cool here now. Thanks for the rain post bj........
    Enjoy your weekend.

  19. That head of yours is so full of great ideas it must hurt. This is just the best. I love how you associated all these great quotes with your rain. We still have had very little and warm days. My flowers think it is spring again. I am afraid it will come a freeze one night and end them. There must be something you are not so good at.

  20. I LOVE Mae West. When I was a little girl, I watched all her movies and thought she was the cat's meow. Even did a killer impersonation of her when I was seven. They don't make 'em like her anymore.

    Cheers,

  23. I just could have given you such a big hug this morning (having my coffee) when I saw your post.
It's your neighborhood. It's like my neighborhood. Your lawn after such a drought looked exactly as you would expect.

I love my little home but it is not in a lovely neighborhood. It's our tiny bit of heaven..and I love it. It's been fun making it my own and watching Howard get used to flowers and plants and color. He had never had that in his life. It's been fun.

I think you know what I mean..

  25. Out of the rain is the very best place for the flag on a stormy day.

    WHERE RED ABIDES

A day filled with scarlet, they say,
    Can make the sad heart skip and play;
    For where red abides,
    A little bird hides
    And sings every worry away.
