I made this post for a meme several weeks ago but there were so many parties going on, and I am such a BAD planner, I just.....
missed the party.
I DID...just flat missed it..
So, thought I'd just post it anyway.
It seems my grandgirls like ALL kinds of crafts

ROLO TURTLE CANDIES
EASY PEASY RECIPE...
Small pretzels
ROLO Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate
Pecan halves.
ROLO Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate
Pecan halves.
Heat oven to 350.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Place one pretzel for each pretzel treat desired on prepared sheet. Top each pretzel with one ROLO Chewy Caramel in Milk Chocolate.
♥♥♥
(I had to keep running back to the store 'cause we were eating the ROLOS
faster than she could assemble the candies.)
♥
Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel piece begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven; top with pecan half. Cool completely.
NOTE...
A grown-up (like a Memaw) should HELP take the hot cookie sheet
out of the oven....
We want NO BURNS here !
ANOTHER kid-friendly recipe....
PEPPERMINT BARK
PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

"Deeds, this is a BEAUTIFUL salad..

You did a fantastic job of making the salad

then another GREAT job of taking a photo of it.

GOOD white chocolate
peppermint candies..
peppermint oil, optional.
♥♥
Smash the candies,
microwave the chocolate,
add candy and pour onto a buttered/sprayed cookie sheet.
♥♥♥
When hard, break into pieces.
UMMM UM GOOD.
Kids can make this, put it in pretty plastic bags tied with a candy stripe ribbon,
and have Christmas gifts
MADE ALL BY THEMSELVES.
The kids will ♥ it
and the gift-ee will love it even more...
Let's not forget one of our FAVORITE recipesPEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
Only 3 ingredients..
♥
1 CUP PEANUT BUTTER....SMOOTH OR CHUNKY
1 EGG
1 CUP SUGAR
♥♥
That's all there is to them and they are delicious.
I've been making them for my family forever
and my grandgirls make them, too.
AGAIN...
it goes without saying that a grownup should be in the kitchen
when taking the cookies out of the oven.
Grandgirls making
PEANUT BUTTER BLOSSOMS
Using the same recipe, just add a
HERSHEY'S KISS
to the center of each cookie.
(It might be NOTED here that you might not want to MASH the dough TOO flat
as your finished cookies will also be.....well......flat. :)) ♥
♥
HAVE fun with your kids/grands making these easy recipes...
it just might get them started to be as good a cook as YOU. :)

ReplyDeleteTTFN ~
Have a great weekend.
Marydon
You are so funny forgetting to post this. Those rolo things look good and next time buy lots of the rolos so you don't have to run to the store. There is no flour in the pb cookies. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteOh I love all those things. What I really love is how you express your pride and love for the grands. I bet each one thinks s/he's your favorite. We can be forgiven if we miss a post or two here or there.
ReplyDeleteFabulous post BJ -- glad you shared :)
ReplyDeleteEncouraging kids in the kitchen is a GREAT thing and you are a great Meemaw :)
Blessings!
Gail
A budding cook to I say! What a fun day to spend making easy/delicious things! That is what kids need, someone by their side teaching them and making it all fun! ;D
ReplyDeleteSorry about that bj..that is the deal with my daughters...I can post pictures of the little ones if people can't copy from my blog..my daughter did it! ;D
ReplyDeleteI see good happening going on at your house....always good foods and making good memories. Trish
ReplyDeleteFond memories are being made in your kitchen. Lovely! Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteVery cute and sweet post. I would be popping the candy into my mouth, too! xo
ReplyDeleteYum Yum. Your are such a sweet Meemaw.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are all so good and yet seem so esy to make. Thanks for the recipes, BJ. Deeds took after you, what a sweetie!....Christine
ReplyDeleteI have never had those pretzel/rolo treats but am going to make them soon! Thanks!!!!! Your grandgirls are adorable! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteOK, now I definitely want to be adopted by you! My girls love to cook, especially the bitty one. She makes some really funky concoctions. The other day she brought me a glass of koolaid she made. The WHOLE packet in one little glass. She asked if I noticed anything "special" in it. Nope. Yeah, she put a glob of toothpaste in. Thanks honey! Now if she only could cook like your grandgirls!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun sharing with your family. We do peanutbutter blossom cookies different. We roll the cookie part into balls and roll them in sugar. Bake them, and then add the "kiss" and bake again for a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteMaryAnn
Amazing post,amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreetings and kisses:)
Everything looks so yummy! I've made the rollo turtles and the 3 ingredient cookies before and they are both very good. You're such a great Meemaw!
ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteEverything happens for a reason. Too much going on in Blog Land...this post might have been missed by your followers! Your timing is perfect, dear friend, for sharing precious memories and good food with all of us! Those grands are, well, GRAND!
Fondly,
Pat
All fun ideas BJ! I'm sure the kids look forward to making them with you:@)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, the rolo turtles are calling my name! I must'nt answer lol... Some of my dearest memories of my grandmother are the time we spent together in the kitchen. She was a fabulous cook, (like you!) and taught me everything I know about cooking. I think Deeds needs her own blog. I would love her perspective on her time with you:>)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mizz Deeds! Excellent cook. Excellent photographer.
ReplyDeleteNow..... I *wonder* where she gets her inspiration from??????????? ,-)
Well, Deeds is going to be just like her MeMaw with the food photography:) Gorgeous salad! I am adding this post to my recipes in my sidebar! Great ideas for simple cooking, I LOVE simple:) Have a blessed day dear BJ, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! We've done the Rolo treats before & you're right...they ARE yummy!

All of those treats look wonderful, and I now craving a salad!!

Penny
I love making candy too. Just like my Mom and Grandmother.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me smile to know that you are encouraging seven more hostesses in the art of gracious entertaining. Thanks! Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteYUMMY! It all looks SO good and the best part is that even I could do it!
ReplyDeleteThese are the kind of recipies that I like. Simple... like me.
I never knew you could make PB cookies without flour.
You are SO wonderfully blessed to have your grand kids close by...
xoxo Bunny Jean
p.s. Could I feature those cookies on my newest blog "INSPIRATIONS"? You can see the link to it on my sidebar. xo
Peanut Butter Blossoms are my VERY FAVORITE cookie ever - and I am quite the cookie connosuir. YUMMY!!
ReplyDeleteMy mom discovered those pretzel rollo treats a few years ago, and they are ALWAYS a hit. The sweet, salty, nutty taste is delicious.
ReplyDeleteI love it that your Deeds sends those pictures. Who would have guess ten years ago that little kids would like to "grow up to be a blogger, just like my Memaw"
BJ,
ReplyDeleteThat's funny you forgot the post. I am wayyy behind in visiting for this party and am going slow to enjoy them anyway. I love these kid friendly recipes and have made several of them with my kids. They are great! Thanks for linking them up at HSH!
