♪♪♫...there must have been some magic.....

...in that old BLUE hat they found....♫♪♪
SNOW...
it CAN be fun...
but I sure like staying OUT of it.
:))
I wrote this post back a few weeks ago when we had a tiny bit of SNOW and a whole lot of COLD.
SNOWMEN can be built  just about anyplace you go,
due to the SNOWS all over everywhere right now...

Our snow, so far, this year has been very minimal...
but, boy, we did, indeed, have
C.O.L.D.
We are staying INSIDE...
more rolls...
yep..we do love our cinnamon rolls.
Staying close to the fireplace and hugging the kitchen and good things to
eat...
and hot things to drink....
OOO, how thankful I am for a
warm house...
plenty of food...
and that our children have the same....
AND...
I love and am thankful, for all my cute thrift finds..
the cups/saucers that I almost sleep with every night...
the little 2 cup tea/coffee pot in all it's perfect whiteness...
the tray of silver....

...even the white AWESOME canister set...
I GOODWILL !!!♫♪♪
This was  last winter...
beautiful daughter and her handsome sweetie
on a fun skiing trip.
brrrrr....it looks so cold.
but they had SO MUCH FUN...:)
FUN IN THE SUN AND SNOW....
Another thankful thing...
fresh fruits YEAR 'ROUND...
oh, I have lived long enuf to remember
that we once only had FRESH fruits during the season.
(yep...you're right...that sugared bowl of fruit is mine...
the more healthy version belongs to MR. SWEET.)
i am sooo bad..!
I can remember a 36 inch snow in my home town when
I was a senior in high school.
Gosh....
so many cattle died during that storm.
I never saw anything like it before....
nor since.....in MY area, I mean.
Of course, with school being out for a whole WEEK,
my friends and I had an absolute BLAST in all that snow.
That was so fun!
I remember my girlfriend, ALICE, was wearing her dad's rubber boots.
Every time we met some boys, she ran and stood in a big snow drift
so they wouldn't see her big, ole boots...hahaaahhaa...
Alice, you still looked cute, even
in your daddy's boots.
The surprising thing ....
how WARM it was on this day,
STANDING ON A GLACIER  in ALASKA, last summer.
We didn't put on a jacket, much less a heavy coat.
...and we had so much fun during this awesome trip.
a LOT of snow in ALASKA..
...how can we ever thank you enough, David and Stacy?
This was indeed a trip that your daddy and I will never, ever forget..
just looking at all the photos takes our breath away..
and we still both tear up, just thinking of your generosity and love.
We also thank GOD everyday for allowing us to enjoy this good health in
our winter season of life...
To be able to take a cruise like this at this stage of life is such a wondrous gift from above.
When my kids and grands were little,
we must have built a million snowmen..
NOW...in my olden years,
I am happy to stay INSIDE...
I am such a sissy girl...
I am almost positive
that is a SNOWSHOE RABBIT
back there on that cute pillow.
Even HE doesn't want to go out in this
1 degree weather we've been having.
*it has now warmed up sooo much and
WE ARE HAPPY.
I am linking today with:

Thanks to all the hosts...
and thank YOU for coming by.
SOOO, if you can get outside and PLAY in THE SNOW,
GO FOR IT...
Too cold ?

Do like me and
run back INSIDE to  a
POT FULL OF HOT TEA and a cinnamon roll.
After all.....we're just a bunch of
sissy girls...:)
and don't we LOVE it !!

A SASSY DAY,

  3. BJ, I'm now craving one of your cinnamon rolls. Fun to see your snow photos, but I for one am happy not to have snow here.
Our one day of snow made a huge mess of the garden. I ready for spring flowers. ;-)

  5. BJ,
I enjoyed every minute of your post! I LOVE SNOW! ! ! On my birthday in Germany, more than 20 years ago, "MR. Ed" and our son built a snowman across the street for my birthday. Everytime I looked out the window of our apartment.. .I saw that snowman. One of the most precious gifts I have ever recieved! Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend. I enjoyed seeing photos of you and "Mr. Sweet"!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  6. You have a talent for enjoying the best of everything -- isn't it wonderful that even when we get beyond playing in the snow, we can still enjoy the beauty (maybe from inside, at a window) and the comfort of a warm house and delicious food. Thank you! Annie

  7. I remember playong in the snow and thinking it was so fun, now I'm a sissy too! I hate the snow, but I sure love some warm baked goods and a cup of coffee while I wait for spring! Where did you grow up that you got so much snow when you were little?

  9. Ok, I'm a sissy girl too. My husband came home from work yesterday (Saturday) and asked if I even left the house. Of course my answer was - "Why would I?" Ha! We had 6' again this week, so all our pretty(?)brown grass is covered again.... Oh well! Thanks for sharing, have a blessed week! Sandi

  10. I personally love the cold and snow - I think I'm the only one in blogland NOT wishing for spring. Take care, Sally

  11. Fun pics BJ! I'm officially declaring that the only acceptable snow for the rest of this winter is the "onion snow" dusting that usually comes around St. Pat's Day:@)

By the way it snowed 10 inches Saturday here in my part of Utah. Oh, how well I know snow and cold. Thanks for sharing such a cute post today. Hugs, Karie

  19. Hello bj, I hope you are in bed by now. I just finished some PS visits and then I saw your late comment. Here I am still awake. Not for long. I love your post as always. Especially good food and the photos of you and Mr. Sweet on the Glacier. I bet Bill and I stood in the same place many years ago. We took a copter ride to get there. Such fun and we didn't need coats either.

My sister's party was wonderful and she loved every minute of the fun, food and most of all, her family and friends who attended. She ended up with lots of lovely gifts, lovingly given from a crowd of 34 people to help her celebrate being 70.

Our cousin Pat was here for 10 days and we hardly ever get to see her. She was a surprise for Jane Anne's party. Bob (cousin) brought her here for the party and we took her home to Columbia, SC this morning. An eight hour round trip. I tried to watch the Academy Awards and slept through through most of it. Darn. As usual lately, I have had little time on my computer. Sigh!

    Good night dear sister friend,
    Jeanne

  22. I am a sissy girl for sure. My outdoor activity this time of year consists of going to and from the car. We actually had horrible storms last night. It was 65 at 1:30 a.m. and only 34 an hour north of us...you can imagine the storms in between.

I love those cups of yours...wish I could have tea with you!

  26. I grew up in Maryland, and I NEVER liked the snow. While my brother and sister played in it, I'd be inside, making hot cocoa.

Thanks for sharing your bit of blue.

    Happy Blue Monday, BJ.

  27. I am with you...played in the snow once this winter...that was enough. Now I am looking forward to the very last vestiges of snow to be gone...bring on the Spring!!!

  29. Thank you for taking us down different roads of your travels. Enjoyed going back to Alaska. My sister and I did that a few years ago. WENT ON THE HELICOPTER RIDE TO THE GLACIERS AND WALKED ALL OVER THEM. THAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP. I AM NOT SURE I WOULDS DO IT NOW. Great post as usual.

  30. Our snow has come and gone and it has been very cold outside. Now we're having wind and lots of rain. I can handle getting wet as long as I'm not freezing!

I have a brother in law and his girlfriend who have just come back from an Alaskan cruise and they absolutely loved it.

It's 27F here right now and I've just come back from meeting my friend June for lunch. We had nice hot soup and a white pomegranate tea so it was perfect to warm us up:-) Lots of snow here still but hopefully it will soon start to melt!!! xoxo

  35. No, No, Sweetie! Please! No more snow!

My NEED for color and warmth, make me take the bigggggggggggggg step! Yes, I did it! Eeeeek! I switched to a New Editor Blogger Template. So I could have more pretty color!

Did you ever think I'd do it? Betcha' not. I was such a hold-put, on the old Stretch Minima.

But......... As I said, my need for more ability to add more "pretty" and "color," got the best of me.

Don't believe me??? -giggles- Yes, I did!!! :-)
