ENGLISH COUNTRY

I love ENGLISH COUNTRY decorating.
I love ENGLISH houses..
that roof just make my heart beat a little faster.
....and ENGLISH gardens make me just swoon.
Love this gorgeous English kitchen
and would you believe that in our very first little house, long long ago in another time,
we HAD a black and white checked, tile floor...and Mr. Sweet and I
TORE IT ALL UP
and replaced it with ALL WHITE TILE.
This fact alone has convienced me that, at age 22, I did not have
ONE LICK OF SENSE !!!
No sir....not ONE !
Colorful and Comfy....
of course, we could never have all those beautiful pillows there.
How can one sit comfortably , worrying about messing up their amazing pillows.
Ah, but they are GREAT for a photo shoot...:)
....take off your hat and stay awhile..
I want a hall tree (or is THIS called a hall tree?)
but it has to be of a certain size.
I like PARTS of this room...
but not as a whole.
Not sure why..
Not crazy about the wall decor but I love the color and the style of furniture.
and, I believe this is a room in a house that MUST have
family room to watch TV and snack in.
'course..if ANY kitchen had a ceiling like THIS, it would be a dream kitchen..
YEP, I am thinking that if when I win the TEXAS LOTTERY,
ONE of the houses I will buy will be an
ENGLISH COTTAGE with a thatched roof
surrounded by beautiful gardens full of ENGLISH blooms
and a HOUSE FULL OF ENGLISH FURNITURE.
Now, keep in mind that I intend to own SEVERAL houses,
in different parts of the world,
and all different styles..

ENGLISH MUFFIN
with APRICOTS..
WELL.......YUM!!

    What wonderful rooms! I love all old world style, French, Italian, English....

    My favorite photos you showed are the 4th from the top and the third from the bottom. But they are all swoon worthy.

    BJ, I love English country too. I have the fourth image down saved. I love that breakfast area. I have a few English country books and I love the country living magazine from England that you can get at the book store. It is fabulous!

    Hubs and I stayed in a bed and breakfast in Ireland once. It was a thatched cottage so they had to be very careful about fires, but it was the most romantic place we stayed while there. Just loved it.

    These are gorgeous rooms, very fresh, yet cozy. I could move right in to a beautiful English Country home, but I can't so I will just let myself be inspired.

    I love the shot you did of the English muffin and jam. How do you get the background to blur out like that into white? Your pictures are always fantastic!

    You did what? You tore up a black and white tiled floor? That just isn't right. Obviously, your younger self just hadn't found her roots yet. I enjoyed seeing all these rooms, gardens, etc. I, too, like English country.

    It's amazing the things that we didn't hang onto or really like when we were young and are now the things we yearn for and love the most.

    I love it too BJ!!! One of my oldest and dearest friends lives in a cottage in Henley-on-Thames that was built in the 1400's. It is so charming ~ it exudes charm from every nook and cranny!!

    Oh BJ! You do know how to find some inspiration. As usual these houses are right up my alley. I love English country cottage style and I went ahead and saved most of these in my already bursting inspiration files. Oh that garden! Can spring get here soon enough? I don't think so.

    These photos are absolutely glorious. I never knew though there was a type of decorating style called English Country. Maybe this is finally the style I've been looking for. I need to do some research! Thanks for sharing.

    I love English Country, too, BJ! I love just about everything that comes to us from England, which is probably why you will catch me watching PBS on Friday nights when they show all the British comedies.

    Beautiful images BJ! I was stationed in England for 3 years and it was fun to drive around and see the different thatched roof cottages. Of course I saw my share of Pubs too:@)

    This post made me swoon! I adore all those pillows (hint: you set between them and lean your arms every so delicatley across them!)and that dining room could be easily added onto my tiny kitchen! An eight legged coffee table. . .I'm smitten! today I wrote down jellies on the grocery list. YES! It's going to be apricot. . .why?. . .because like you I LOVE 'EM! Have a wonderful weekend!

    Oh BJ, that dining area has me inspired to go rearrange rooms!!! I love those shelves, and the color of them, and those pillows, and the lemon thingy on the counter. Yep, I am going to play now! I agree with Penny, very swoon worthy!!!

    In East Texas we have to have ceiling fans instead of a pretty dangling light :( Why it is already "hot" here!
    That room is my favorite too BJ, would just jerk that gold frame print off the wall and add a...white framed mirror :))
    Love all those pretty gardens---"not" here in Texas----too dry and the sun will burn it up :(
    But we can ....d.r.e.a.m. on!

    Oh of course! You want an English cottage, in the Cotsworth's or where ever that lovely area is. And a spot in the South of France, too, yes? Me toooo!

    And how about a place on one of the Greek Isles? Mmmmmmmm, yes. :-)

    Oh and of course, I want a tiny apartment in Paris. They call them a "Ped a tere" or some such. Tiny, 'cause in Paris, you don't cook, but eat out. So no kitchen. But the rest of it, is a perfect jewel of an apartment.

    Oh my!!!!!!! See what you did? You got me carried away! :-))))))

    I am blessed to have just moved to Somerset in the southwest of England. When I open the curtains in the morning I am greeted with a glorious view that slowly shows all it's glory as the autumn mist clears. As I walk to the local post box i pass such a cottage as In your first picture. I love to painty beautiful surroundings.
