I just can't think of a much better way to start
PINK SATURDAY (a day early)
than with the morning paper, a PINK donut, bacon and sweet, hot coffee..
...ain't life grand !!
My good friend, MARTHA, and I spent the entire day..
from 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening,
My good friend, MARTHA, and I spent the entire day..
from 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening,
CHRISTMAS SHOPPING..
By the time these photos were made, we'd been "at it" for about
3 hours and that's my excuse for lookin' pretty skanky.!!
Martha is recovering from a stroke she had last summer, and is still using a walker,
so we took it slow, had a long lunch and a few "sit downs"
and she just about got all her shopping finished.
**
It sure does do my heart good to see her laugh this hard !!
One of the back bedrooms is the location for
WRAPPING CENTRAL
**
...there's a sign on the closed door that says
DO NOT OPEN 'TIL CHRISTMAS
I purchased lots of gifts, too..
some I wrapped and the others are waiting in the wings.
(I'll tell ya what's in those tiny boxes after Christmas...)
(I'll tell ya what's in those tiny boxes after Christmas...)
......so many good kinds of Christmas candies...
PEPPERMINT BARK has got to be my all time favorite Christmas candy
Lots of RED that might have to take the place of it's
softer sister, PINK,
thru the holidays.....
Mizz Beverly said it was ok...
All of my shopping this day was for the grandgirls and I can't show photos of what I bought but...
but there sure is a lot of CUTENESS back there in that back room....:)

SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY
My thanks, Ladies, for all you do.
Oh what fun at your place. When I started to read Pink Saturday, I panicked and thought; did I miss Friday?...bit then realized I was OK. What a good friend you are to Martha; I am sure she appreciates.

Hi BJ,
ReplyDeleteSeems like a perfect breakfast to me! Glad you and your friend had such a fun (and productive) day. Your gifts look super-festive and you -- "pretty skanky?" No way -- gorgeous as always!
Have a great weekend!
Bill
How could you look bad? Always a smile on that face. I'm glad you had fun and I too have a decorating room that the cats and family members, including Kane, are not allowed inside. I can't wait to start wrapping but I have to put the big tree up tomorrow first. Isn't it wonderful to shop with a good friend? Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteBJ you know how to make everything you eat a party and everything you do an adventure. You're a hoot. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see someone else has a guest room that looks like mine! I have most of my wrapping done and under the tree, but it is still a mess in there with odds and ends. Hopefully, no one will show up wanting to sleep in there!
ReplyDeleteNow I can't start my day with a donut or I feel pretty icky mid-morning. I can however eat one as a snack a bit later in the day!
Beeeej,
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling well enough to go shopping with your friend. Looks like you both had a good time! As for the Ghiridelli, be still my heart...
A great way to share time with a friend and accomplish something all at the same time. Te one getting the Peppermint Bark will certainly be pleased.
ReplyDeleteHow blessed you & Martha are in your friendship ... you both are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGlad you both had a beautiful day together.
Merry Christmas ~
Have a beautiful weekend ~

I just told my girls this evening I want to try to make us some this weekend. I don't know if that's a good thing or not! Ha!

-April
Looks like a fun day, BJ!
ReplyDeleteBacon and a donut breakfast looks good to me. Better than my cold biscuit and 1/2 a glass of diet coke I just had. We are on the run this morning. Going to that little German village.
You asked about the length of time it takes to decorate. I guess it would be about two weeks, because we take our time. Every so often J tells me to slow down. I've tried walking slow this week.LOL. Isn't easy!;-) My mother always went at a run on her little short legs, I guess I am just like her!
Looks like a Christmas wrapping marathon! Fun, fun, fun! You are a joyful lady and it's always fun to visit! Save a bite of that peppermint bark for me.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
I am in love with all that pretty wrapping paper! Can't wait to see the goodies inside!
ReplyDeleteHappy PS,
Jacalyn
