TABLESCAPE BLUES...

I really don't have TABLESCAPE BLUES so much as I have BLUES on the TABLESCAPE....

THIS IS A REPOST FROM THE PAST....
I have used these blue and white beauties in several posts and will use them MANY more times, I am sure.

They are RIDGWAY, STAFFORDHIRE, ENGLAND and the pattern is OLD ENGLISH BOUQUET.
Mr. Sweet bought them for me at a flea market for less that $50.00 for the set, service for 8.
Altho they are no longer in production, I have been able to find a few pieces on Ebay and the Replacement place.

I would really like to add more serving dishes to the set...sure would be great to pass along to one of the granddaughters at some point.

The beautiful silver tray that I am using as a charger at this setting was given to me by BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER. She brought it to me from one of her trips to Mexico.

The flatware is by ONIDEA but I have had it so long, I don't remember the pattern name.
The stemware is from GOODWILL.


The large and small tureens came from GOODWILL and I could not believe that anyone would give them away.
They are in excellent condition and the markings on the bottom: a crown with LILY above it,
W. ADAMS and SON, England and semi-porcelain.

The large one cost $4.95 and the small was $3.95. AMAZING !!
I was thrilled to pieces that the blues of the tureens matched so well with my dishes.





Almost everyone on the planet knows that these little white, ceramic, salt and pepper birds flew here from TARGET. Some might remember that mine are named BONNIE and CLYDE....
 What I have really enjoyed about having these little cuties is the fact that they look fabulous with ANY type table setting.










These glass sugar and creamer belonged to my mom...She bought them in the 40's in Dallas. I don't know anything about glass so I don't know if these are pressed or cut glass...??

PLEASE...take an after-dinner mint....
O, WAIT...We haven't even had supper....uh...dinner yet, have we ? ;o)

    Your Staffordshire China is beautiful!! Those tureens from Goodwill are awesome. So are the crystal stemware!!

    You my lady must have a lot better thrift store than I have. What gorgeous tureens. I adore them. These are such pretty vibrant blues, they just sing happiness to me. Have a great week! LOL

    I REALLY,REALLY,REALLY LOVE those dishes... AH! I am ALWAYS attracted to that basket shape with flowers. I have Lots and Lots of jewelry pins in that shape and "of course" baskets. Your dishes are "To Die For", AND how did you ever keep from exploding with joy when you found those tureens. They are GORGEOUS!!! Thank you so much for sharing.

    It's no secret I love these dishes BJ. You turned me on to the blue and white transferware a couple years ago. SO much so, that I am now slowly incorporating blue into all my red decorating and have started a collection of blue and white plates to hang on my wall! You inspire me:>)

    I love your blue and white dishes..There is just something about blue and white that makes my heart sing...it's just so pretty!
    When ever I bring out my good china, I am always worried about putting it in the dishwasher so I wash everything by hand...that's probably why I don't use them much LOL..dishpan hands and all LOL.

    Pretty, pretty, pretty. I love the glass. I can't tell either, if it is cut or pressed, but I did a post a while back on American Brilliant Cut glass. I know that they continued to make it, copying it for a long time after. At any rate, it is special because it was your mother's!

    Doesn't Ridgways make the most interesting patterns! I have Ridgways, "Lynton" in the blue, and it is so much fun to use. I've been seeking Ridgways, "Portland Basket" for years, and I'm not sure that I'll ever find it. Ah well, the hunt is half the fun.     Me again...I just checked out eBay for your pattern. There is currently an auction for 6 bowls in your pattern. They are from a seller in Great Britain with whom I have actually bought some Royal Worcester, Regency. He is very reputable, and he's easy to work with. Just thought that you'd like to know.
