PITIFUL PEARL......

UPDATE TO THE FOLLOWING POST.....
THE LOVELY RED AND WHITE QUILT HAS BEEN ORDERED AND IT IS ON IT'S WAY TO MY PITIFUL BEDROOM, AS WE SPEAK...
NOW...to the paint store for samples...any ideas, people? NOT BEIGE...nope, not for me...

MY bedroom is
SO PURELY PITIFUL
that I don't EVEN know what to do....

I am a BRAVE girl, just to post it here for all the world to see..
i hope you still love me after seeing where i sleep every single night...
iT is NOT a pretty site !!

All of you have the most delightful bedrooms and here I am, just beside myself about this one!!

For two solid years I have wanted to do SOMETHING with it but just didn't really know
WHAT ? ... HOW....?
or where to find the INSPIRATION I needed to MOVE ON IT !!

WELL, HOLD ON BABY, 'CAUSE I FOUND IT...
NOT JUST ONE, BUT .....TWO that I am totally and forever and ever in love with from now til the end of TIME !!!!!

OH....MY.....LORD !

this beauty belongs to TINA at CHERRY HILL and I always...ALWAYS, want to copy kat every single thing she does to her ADORABLE house....
seeing a room of hers throws me smack dab into the middle of COVET !!!!!
*
oh, but isn't this the most delightful room....and see that red and white quilt....she even put where to buy it on her blog so I am thinking she won't give a flippin' care if I buy it and put it on MY bed...ooo, and so can YOU!
but, oh....how will it look in MY setting ??
'Course, I have a LOT and I mean a L.O.T. of other things to do to MY room to make it anywhere NEARLY as warm, beautiful and full of charm as HERS ....
and, most likely, I will NEVER make it ...
but I'm gonna
GO DOWN TRYIN' ...
*
AND THE FOLLOWING BEDROOM has been in my Favorites File since way back when ...
from RATE MY SPACE

I love this one, too...
i am a very casual person and my home reflects it..
i love casual, relaxed, not everything matching, not "decorated looking"...
but pretty !! (remember, I am the one that uses a lot of mismatched dishes!)
I love both of these rooms ...they just have a pleasing tone ...maybe it's all the red and I do love RED....
*
ok, I am inspired now...let me see....should I start on that bedroom NOW ...or should I wait until
after the holidays ??? hmmmm
I'm going to ORDER THAT QUILT right this minute and THEN I'll think about all the other things...
a girl hasta have a starting INSPIRATION PIECE...RIGHT??

*

and in the meantime....

I can hardly wait to get started with my CHRISTMAS cooking !!

How 'bout you?

  1. Hi (from across the sea)

You have a nice bedroom... there are only two things I would do in your room, after bying that quilt...
paint the walls beige, and replace your pillows, with some that has black/white and red/white decor.. and voila!! YOU'll have a bedroom for everyone to envy!

  2. I agree with Monica. Paint and new pillows will give you what you want, especially after you get your new quilt.

  3. BJ I remember when you posted your BR on RMS asking for advice, come now girl you can do it!! That first bedroom pic made me gasp for air, it is drop dead gorgeous, and how about the cream loveseat with that quilt!! And the red checked quilt is from Penneys, right? What a fabulous cozy gorgeous room, can ya tell I love it too!! Now hop to it!! xoxox

  4. It doesn't look like it will be hard for you to get the look you want. I too love the red. Remember Standsure from RMS? Her twin beds done in the red were #1 for the longest time. Loved that room.

Good luck, you can do it!!

  5. Good morning BJ, I do love your inspiration room. When I decorate I MUST have an inspiration or I just can't get in the mood. I am in love with the four poster bed. Also the bed covers. I think starting with your quilt is a good idea. If you just do your existing bed you will have a great start. Paint the walls too. I like your room and you don't have do do it all at once. I love your home and a cottage look seems to be your style mixed in with, ah yes...French Country!!! You go girl. Wish we were neighbors and I could help you. I adore decorating.

    Love...Jeanne

  6. I can definitely understand how those two pictures call to you..me too! I say start now. Sometimes, like in my case, it takes awhile to get it all together. Order that quilt before they sell out!!

  9. You know that red & white checked quilt will be perfect for the holidays! The rest can wait until 2009...the 1st of the year isn't that much fun for shopping anyway! Have fun re-doing. I think your current pillows fit the style you're going for.

  10. Tinas bedroom is my all time favorite. I need to get back on the decorating trail with my own bedroom. There are still a few no cost/low cost things I can do to make it better. I think your bedroom now is pretty but I know that the ones you show are more "you". Go for it BJ:>) I know you will put your own special touch on the look and it will be wonderful!

  12. Morning, Sweetness. Oh, I don't think your bedroom is pitiful! Your bed is so gorgeous! But I'll wait with bated breath (is that how you spell that?) and I know you'll come up with wonderfulness. However, I do love your first inspiration picture. I get a little bit of covetness going on, too, here in the Land of Blog.
Oh, Yes! Yes! Please do snap again. I love your snapping pictures - you are the most beautiful one! I really mean that! Inside and OUT!
    Be a sweetie,

  14. Love love love them both!! Oh you could do a fabulous makeover and make your current bedding the base for it. Are you able to take the black & white sections out of your sleigh bed to recover them? I LOVE the red & white check bed! It's so you!! And paint on the walls can change a room so dramatically with a small amt of $$. You can do it!

My bedroom is a light blue (started with a blue and white theme) but now I have been thinking of adding touches of RED!!! Whatever you do, have fun with it!

  24. Hi BJ
I LOVE that Cherry Hill bedroom too! I think that color she has on the walls is a perfect color for almost any color scheme. I have a similar color in most of our house and I've been thinking about doing our bedroom in it too.
Just want to let you know you are such a ray of sunshine in blogland. I'd love to have you join Thankful Thursday. Just let me know.

  26. Hi BJ -
I think your bedroom has such possibilities with what you have. Just a few changes and we'll all be drooling over yours! I'm glad you ordered the quilt. It's going to be wonderful in there. Let us see what you're doing so we can keep cheering you on.

I've been working [slowly] on a redo in ours but life keeps getting in the way! One of these days - probably after the holidays - I'll get back to it and get it finished so I can share it with you.

  29. Hello BJ,

Oh I saw that bedroom the other day from Cherry Hill. That is one of my favorite blogs too! Love, love that bedroom. You can do it! Glad you got the quilt. Maybe your kids can help paint as part of your Christmas present. I would go for the color she has in her room. If you can't paint yet, the spread, and some black accent pieces will look fabulous. Almost just like your kitchen. Look how nice the green, red, and black colors go in there.
