I've always wanted to cruise !! On a hugh, fancy, beautiful ship to beautiful places!
Most of our family have been blessed to take cruises but.....
Bill and I have never had the pleasure.....until...
NOW ........... WOOOOO HOOOO, BABY...

the WONDERMENT of all this, however, is the following fact:
My daughter, her hubby and 4 kids are going....
My son, his wife and 4 of their kids are going.....
Bill and I are going...............................................
WE...... ALL 14 OF US...........ARE GOING.....TOGETHER !
NOW, THAT IS ....AWESOME !
i am just beside myself !!!!!!

THIS MAGNIFICENT SHIP IS THE CARNIVAL CONQUEST one of the newest and largest in the Carnival fleet.....
OH HONEY !
taking a cruise during OFF SEASON, of course, is much more reasonable, PRICE-WISE ...
our kids are all good students and their parents decided missing one week of school wouldn't harm them....
you can't imagine how excited all the kids are...getting to take a week out of school....
going with their COUSINS on a 7 day cruise is just about more than they can stand...oh, what memories will be made on THIS fabulous vacation !!
they tell me that the swimming pool is salt water...they empty it each night and refill it each morning............. AMAZING!
just take a look at ALL those loungers around the pool.....
the granddaughters just CAN'T WAIT to show me all around the ship...
all the fun things to do....
all the delicious and plentful foods offered...
the snorkling in COZUMEL, MEXICO....
the RAIN FOREST in JAMAICA
(oh, my gosh...i can't EVEN believe i am going to JAMAICA!!...if my hair were only longer, i would get those braids with all the colorful beads!!ha ha....)
the 5 granddaughters will SURE be having their hair braided by the Jamaican ladies on the beach....myself ?.....i will settle for a fantastic T-SHIRT or whatever treasures i might find waiting for me....
in this enchanted land that i've never been to before .....
i just can't wait to see the SUNRISES and the SUNSETS, out on this beautiful world of WATER and SKY..
i know it is all going to be so beautiful and just breathtaking....
Our cruise itinerary is :
SUNDAY: LEAVE GALVESTON (has been changed to HOUSTON, due to IKE)
MONDAY: FUN DAY AT SEA
TUESDAY: FUN DAY AT SEA
WEDNESDAY: MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA
THURSDAY: GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS
FRIDAY: COZUEL, MEXICO
SATURDAY: FUN DAY AT SEA
SUNDAY: GALVESON (probably HOUSTON)

ALL THIS TAKES PLACE, STARTING
OCTOBER 12TH....
I have clothes, suitcases, hanging bags, shoes, undies, pj's, hair dryer, curling iron, makeup....
ALL kinds of STUFF already COVERING my bedroom....
should i take THIS top to go with THIS pair of shorts....
but THIS top will actually go with BOTH pairs of THESE shorts....
ahhh, and there's my BRAND NEW, AFTER 5 outfit that i just can't wait to wear...
and THESE shoes, that i bought 2 years ago and only worn that one time,....they will look FABULOUS with this new coctail dress !!!
i am SO excited !!

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! Cruisin' IS life, is our motto! We usually take a cruise once a year and since the first one, 12 years ago, are seriously addicted. You will have a blast! Take tons of pictures! Carnival is such a fun ship... .lots of entertainment!

I've never been on a cruise, but my son thinks that it's the only way to vacation. I think the idea of including your family is the BEST! Dream on.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning BJ, I am sooooooo very happy for you and your family. It is great that you are all going together. We have only been on one cruise. That was three years ago. It was an eight day cruise. We left out of Philadelphia and went to Nova Scotia. The best part is that 14 of you are going together. You can eat all day and never have to cook. I loved wearing a cocktail dress and getting our pictures taken. Your itinerary sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you that Halloween is my second favorite holiday also. I love to dress up. Before I retired, some of us in the office would dress up every year. We would try to see who was the ugliest, prettiest, etc. It was so much fun. We have "Trick or Treat" night in our little town and the next night have a wonderful parade. It's great fun.

BJ, I am jealous, I love to go on a cruise. My dh and my family and friends (50) went on a Carnival cruise on our 25th wedding anniversary. We had the time of our lives. All of my family came along except one sister. You are going to have the most wonderful trip with your family ever. Cruising is a total luxury. All you have to do is have fun. I am so happy for you all.
ReplyDeleteIt is 47 degrees this am, we put the fireplace on (gas). I love this time of year. Slowly I have managed to decorate for fall. My dh could not find my box of fall things in the attic. sigh. Men are so blind and I can't get up their yet. Thanks for asking I am improving each day.

Oh, I'm so happy for you! You're going to love it!!!! Take in everything, all the sites, the fresh smell of the ocean, the wonderful smell of the food, the great shows. And since you're back to walking, it's great walking around the ship, such great things to see that you won't even realize you're walking!!!! My sweet hubby took me on a cruise 3 years ago for our 30th anniversary and it was awesome. We left out of Galveston, too. Take lots of pictures and oh, you're going to have so much to tell us when you get back!!!!

What a fun trip! I've been on one cruise; a river cruise on the Danube and it was great. Much smaller ship than yours. My mom would already be packed weeks ahead for trips and then be unpacking and repacking! Have a wonderful time. Karen

ReplyDeleteWe went on almost the exact same ports of call except, at the time, we also went to Haiti and the island owned by Carnival....can't think of the name right now.
Anyway, you're going to have a great time eating, sightseeing and being with your family. ENJOY!

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw the cartoon. Made me think of a friend of mine who recently went on an Alaskan cruise.
She'd not flown before (hard to believe in this day and age, hugh?)
So, the three women she was traveling with had gotten all of their things in one suitcase each. They had "small" containers for their shampoo, etc..
Not my friend! She had four suitcases plus her carry on filled with giant size containers of shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc...
The guy checking her got to laughing and told her he could tell she'd never flown before. When asked why by her, he told her....."oh, no reason in particular."......
He let her in with all that stuff. LOL
What fun! I also have never been on a cruise. I hope to someday. Looking forward to see your pictures of the fun time you will have.
