I finally GOT IT...

GIRLY ROAD TRIPS...
don't we love 'em !
When my daughter and 2 grand girls went on a
GIRLY ROAD TRIP
for 3 days to BIG DALLAS TEXAS,
I WENT TO POTTERY BARN...
my first trip in to see them.
OMGOSH....
they had so many pretty things, I kept having to go to the bathroom 'cause all the prettiness was
working on my olden bladder.
Every where I looked was something I thought I couldn't ever be able to live WITHOUT.
BUT...
funds...or rather, LACK of funds, made me zero in on something I COULD afford...
 (Pottery Barn image)
See that large, beautiful, awesome and TO.DIE.FOR.
LANTERN
 (Pottery Barn image)
I've been in luv with it for several years now...
nearing $100.00 in price, however, has made me just
admire it in the catalogs.
The store I was in had only ONE of the largest lanterns left
and they sold it to me for
$40.00

My YUM # 1
May I just say I tore my wallet up, getting the money out fast enough !!
Of course,
selfish me...I want the other two but...
they are sold out, I think.
I added more candles around the lantern (My YUM #2 )
but I would
LOVE to have some sheet music that I can wrap around the candles...
JUST LIKE IN POTTERY BARN
O, I am such a shallow COPY CAT....
:(
This photo and the ones following were taken using my
candlelight setting on the camera...pretty cool .
See the little olden book in the left corner of the table...?
The most PRECIOUS little leather book of
DICKENS....
won it on Ebay for just a few dollars.
YUM #3
LUV big, 4 wick candles....
YUM #4
The little brass candle holder in the back is a favorite of mine.
Picked it up in a cottage flea market in Amarillo, Texas
a few years back.
"You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light." Psalm 18:28
French pastries at the
GALLERIA MALL in Dallas...
we had a HARD time choosing...
ummmmm
(Web image)
I forgot to take a photo of OUR pastries
but this photo is much like what we had.
YUM #5

Thanks to all our lovely hosts...
HOPE you will all go by and see the beauty going on...
THANK YOU for coming by today.
Love you all....
xoxo bj

  2. You mean you have never been to Pottery Barn before. OMG! I live ten minutes from one and it is dangerous to have it that close, but I try to refrain from buying much there. They do have a big white urn type bowl I want and I may just bite the bullet and get it. I hope it doesn't sell out before they go on sale. Love your new lantern and your pretty candles and that Dickens book is awesome. I have an old one, too.

  12. Candlelight is always so pretty and especially so on an artfully arranged table. Love the lantern. ♫Give me oil for my lamp, keep me burning...♫ Couldn't give you the sheet music so had to settle for the song.

  16. I am crazy about Pottery Barn! Love your purchase.

You can go to some websites with free sheet music - especially the classical music - and print it on scrapbook paper that looks aged. There you go...instant sheet music.

  33. Beautiful, and I like your display so much better. My eyes went to your beautiful tree/bird candle holder. Do you think you can find sheet music on the internet to print off on off white paper or give it the old look by wiping it w/ coffee/tea? I've never been to a PB store either. There are none around here but I sure would love to.

  34. All I can afford at Pottery Barn is the free inspiration that I get there! So glad you were able to get that lantern. It really is YUM!

  48. Congratulations on your Pottery Barn find. I love thos ebig old lanterns too, but am looking for a cheap, cheap, cheap knockoff. BTW, I cut some scrapbook paper that had a music sheet design on it and taped it around some candles to get that look. I think the scrapbook page was about 50 cents each at Hobby Lobby.

  49. You really scored a deal on the lantern. It looks beautiful amongst all your other pretties. I love everything PB has, but like you, don't like their prices. I like to go there or look at their catalog for inspiration. Love your blog! Come visit me at
