This HOUSE FOR SALE business
can sure be stressful.
We are working on our attic....bringing down things, going thru them, trying to keep things as neat as possible......
you know, just in case the phone rings and someone wants to come over and take a look-see at this
HOME FOR SALE BY OWNER.
The attic was cleaned a couple years ago so it's not TOO bad....thank goodness.
Mostly Christmas decos.....
In between times, I relieve my stress by baking....
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
this time.
I used the recipe on the
GHIRARDELLI CHOC. CHIPS pkg.
Mr. Sweet just can't keep from snitching some of the
raw cookie dough....
he just LOVES it..
even gets a
COOKIE DOUGH
BLIZZARD from
Dairy Queen.
This recipe call for BAKING SODA and no BAKING POWDER...
the soda changes the texture TREMENDOUSLY.....
.....they are more of a CAKE COOKIE....
ever hear of a CAKE COOKIE...?
meee, either.
Most Cho. Chip Cookies are THIN....
these are all puffed up.
Most Cho. Chip Cookies are THIN....
these are all puffed up.
The taste is awesomely GOOD..
but the jury is still out on the TEXTURE of these little treats.
We both think you can't go wrong with
MAPLE FLAVORING...
:-)
I keep asking Mr. Sweet if they are good and, with his mouth totally full of COOKIE,
I can't
understand a word he says !!!
Bye bye....see ya on Thursday...
**The first couple that came to see the house were looking for one for their daughter and her husband.
The older couple fell in love with the house, brought their daughter over,
they SEEMED to like it but I think they were wanting a newer house.
I wish the mama and daddy would buy it....:-)
Who knows, tho....we may hear back from them later in the week.
FINGERS CROSSED...

BJ,
I will keep your home sale in prayer. I always inwardly rejoice when I see a SOLD sign go up! It is indeed a stressful time.
I have had cake-y cookies, but prefer a crunchewy texture.
And cookie dough?? it's better than the cookies, at least for chocolate chip cookies!
Have a Blessed Easter. He is risen!
A house sells quicker when it smells like fresh baked cookies:) Have a blessed week dear BJ, HUGS!
Chocolate chip cookies are a very good stress buster and those look really good!
I hope you get good news about your house.
Your cookies look great! I love that they're puffy & not flat. (Mine always turn out flat.) Keeping my fingers crossed for you on a quick house sale!
I love a cakey cookie some times, Beej, of course I'll eat any cookie with chocolate chips, especially if the chips have that fancy G name! ;-) xo
I'm sure that you'll sell your house just from the good cookie-baking smell!
Saying a prayer for a buyer for your house and those cookies look mighty fine- xo Diana
Hi BJ. You have a new look since I last visited. Please don't tell me it was new months ago! I just don't get around to visiting as fast as I used to. Fingers crossed that your house sales and keep baking as the smell of fresh cookies is a really good selling point..Happy Tuesday..Judy
The cookies sound wonderful and I can hardly wait to make some. I shouldn't but I'm going to anyway.
Maybe Easter Sunday will be your lucky day - will say a prayer for a quick sale.

I know that stressful feeling of having a house for sale. These cookies look delicious and I want to try them. Anything slightly kin to a cake sounds good to me!
Hope you have a very happy Easter bj.

BJ,
I understand what you mean about the texture of a cookie!!! Kinda' like a cupcake when your mouth is all ready for that cookie crunch!!! "Mr. Ed" would be like "Mr. Sweet"...because here on the Prairie...he's the chocolate lover!!!
Still praying for your house to $ale, soon, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
The cookies look great. I keep praying and hoping your house sells real fast. Have a blessed day. Madeline
I'm a cookie addict. And these look like they could feed my addiction. These would be perfect to take to an elderly person because they often have trouble chewing the harder ones. I'd love for you to like them up to Share the Shelter--a linky to share ways to shelter (encourage) others. http://ourshelteringtree.blogspot.com
Joyfully,

Lh BJ selling a home is so very stressful. I hope it is sold soon so you can move into your new place. I love cookies and these look pretty darn good to me!
hugs, Linda
Way back in 2005 I sold my home myself ... it was slow going until I purchased an MLS number which gave all the real estate agents access to the listing. It worked beautifully, I did end up paying commission to the buyer's agent, but negotiated it to 3%. Good luck with yours.
"BJ"..........
WHAT has HAPPENED to your blog?????????????????????????
It doesn't LOOK like YOUR blog, any more.
WHAT?
WHAT?
WHAT?
Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"
Looks like your blog, got its basic theme or something, changed... By whom? You didn't. I don't think...
-sigh-
Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"
Yes, Auntie just told me that she could click on thumbnails and open. This is on some strange setting. Maybe sending out the word in a new blog post would work...if you can find where to do a new blog post. (I don't like this look, but I do know some bloggers who've tried it.)
I'll cross my fingers, too. Now, may I have one of those cookies?
Phew! You're back. Way too much excitement for a Wednesday!
Hi bj ... the cookies look very good. Bet Mr. Sweet does not care if they are not flat and crunchy. Just hope they took away the stress.
Blessing and good luck with a quick sell.
Hugs,
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
I'll say a prayer for a successful sale.
If you bake cookies and someone comes by to look at the house it will be a sure sale.
They look pretty good to me. :) The house selling business is a pain, I know. Good luck!
I hope you get your house sold very soon. The cookie aroma is sure to help when you have potential buyers looking!
Love the look of those chocolate chip cookies and I just happen to have a package of Ghirardelli chocolate chips! Just what I'll be making? Thanks for the recipe. And if Mr. Sweet loves them, I know my Cookie Monster hubby will, too!
Yum! Good luck with the sale, BJ :) Easter greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla

LOL at your closing line! A mouth full is all you need to know. :)
These look great. I'm visiting today from Thursday's Favorite Things.
Hi BJ,
I'm craving cookies now! Wishing you all the best on the house. :)
Hugs,

P.S. - my new blog! http://www.weaverseries.blogspot.com/
I do think having a house on the market is stressful. I remember when we were selling our last house, with a realtor. My daughter and I were just sitting down to dinner (my husband had already moved to the new town) and the kitchen looked like any kitchen looks after cooking dinner and before clean-up. The realtor called and said he had some out of town people who wanted to see the house. I said, how soon? He said, we are in the driveway!!!
We just opened the refrigerator and threw everything in it.
Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite...fresh from the oven, there is nothing better.
When we sold our last house, I had made a dessert with cinnamon and I think that sealed the deal. I'm thinking it was an apple crisp. Best of luck bj, on selling quickly. The cookies look sooo good!
p.s. Make those rolls...they're easy and your family will go crazy. Maybe bread baking in the oven, or just out of the oven, would sell the house??
Hi BJ,
When your house is For Sale it is very stressful. There is the getting it ready to show, then not living in it until it sells. These Cookies would sure help my stress level. Wishing you and your family a Blessed Easter and thanks for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
Come Back Soon!
Miz Helen
We like our chocolate chips puffy, not thin and flat, so those look right up my alley!
Yes, I remember the stress of selling the house. I was still working, and exhausted when I got home. Someone rang the bell, we hadn't even put the sign up yet. Well, they bought it!
This is a good season to sell. People want to get in and settled before school starts. Here it takes weeks for all the paper work, title search etc, and mortgage requirements. You have to plan on months to get it finally closed on.
Good luck, BJ, and Happy Easter! God bless!
Hi Bj, I have a couple cake cookie recipes. One has bananas and chocolate chips. I like them now and then for a change. Your baking will make your house smell lovely. They say that helps sale the home. I know what it's like trying to sale and kee thing clean. Wishing you lots of luck and keep up the baking! lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
When we had our home on the market I had cookie dough in the freezer and always had them baking and ready for sampling when the clients came looking - the fragrance of that home is what sold my husband on it when we bought the house - a great stress reliever too! I do appreciate you sharing your recipe with Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy
Oh the stress of selling a house. Not fun, for sure. I don't know what I'd do if I had to clean out my attic. There are YEARS worth of stuff up there. :) Glad the cookies made everything better. You know, I love ghirardelli chocolate. I've even been to the ghirardelli store in San Francisco, but for some reason, I've never made cookies with their chocolate. I better remedy that soon!
