Black and White Buffet

HI, YA'LL...
Our very favorite settings at the table are always BUFFET STYLE... ...love to use stacks of plates...flatware in cute basket holder, glasses gathered in one spot....and I, for one, LOVE to do a BLACK and WHITE BUFFET.        IMAGINE THAT!!
I have enjoyed my VINTAGE CANISTER SET so much since my good friend, PATTI  painted my wooden lids to resemble MACKENZIE*CHILDS and I added the MC knobs.
.....and NO BODY on this planet loves their
MACKENZIE*CHILDS large TEA KETTLE any more than I.
I saw one sitting on a stove top in a kitchen on a blog several years ago
and fell knee-deep in love.
Saved my $'s and finally ordered it about 3 years ago.....
Little, white BOOS again...sitting right there on those
MACKENZIE*CHILDS COASTERS
(I don't have very many pieces of MC...very, VERY expensive and
I tend to BRAG on every single piece I have.....forgive me ??

I used my solid white PIER 1 plates..
black and white polka dot chargers...

And...we had a bottle of son's BESO del Sol wine made from grapes from his beautiful vineyard....which he just sold and that is a very exciting upcoming post......

I barely can keep my big fat mouth closed on something that I am not supposed to mention for awhile longer...so PLEASE don't twist my arm...NO....get away....I won't tell.
Not even a large box of TEXAS MILLIONAIRES can make me talk.
This evening we didn't have a dessert so I put the little PEPPERMINT filled jars
as part of the CENTERPIECE...:))

Sweet daughter, STACY, gave me the little sugar bowl that I am using as a candle holder this day.
Daughter in Love. Kathy, gave me this adorable basket caddy for my RED flatware which
came from TARGET. I don't wash them in the dishwasher as the shiny silver part tends to tarnish to a not-so-pretty finish. They are sooo  cheap inexpensive but I don't use them all that often and I LOVE THE COLOR.:)

Isn't it fun when we have something that we just love...that gives us so much pleasure...?

Well, this is how I feel about my black and white checks....I just love 'em.

Do you know what's
BLACK and WHITE
and RED all over?

The newspaper....:))

I used the solid black napkins with the clear octogon shaped napkin rings....
found 6 at GOODWILL for mere pennies. :))

I saw some of the most beautiful pumpkins at the market the other day and I really wanted to bring a few home with me.....but....
at $9 and 10 dollars each, I decided
WHOA....I think NOT.

They surely were pretty, tho.
For the money, the old fashioned orange ones can't be beat.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope the rest of the week is goood for you. :)
Love to all.......bj

  5. What a beautiful post! And such FUN!! I went over to your friend's blog and started 'following' her!
I do not have ANY MC! I guess I live in a hole because I don't think I've even heard of it before. But then - I don't get out much!!

  6. well seeing all my favorite colors surely made me love this post - and thanks for the "shout out", too. I just scored 3 different MC retired dinner dishes with fluted edges on eBay - they just arrived and I caught myself drooling over their beauty! I also just got the creamer that goes with the "high tea" checked set - I had the high tea pot and sugar bowl, but not the creamer, so it is nice to have the whole set. And I love my tea pot on my stove as much as you do :-)....I just posted some MC knock-off Xmas stocking I made - stop over

  8. Love all your things, BJ, very dishalicious. Back and white is really growing on me, I think you might be a teeny bit responsible. I didn't know you had a vineyard in the family! xo

  19. What a lovely and happy setting. So sweet to see all those pieces brought by lovely and generous souls who love you.
I already knew that B&W is elegant. Just now realised it could give a fun twist to a table... I expected to see Mad Hatter popping for the party... the Johnny Depp version, to keep up with the theme ahahahaha
    Thank you,

  23. THANK YOU so much!!! For being brave enough, to have Fun With Halloween!!!

I love you to pieces! I do!

I have fun with Halloween, but I don't have anyone, who would admonish me, not to do so. I know, you must have some, who just might, might, might not appreciate it, that you are so open-minded. As to enjoy Halloween.

Well, "Auntie" thinks you rock, "BJ"!

  39. I love your black and white! I have one tiny little piece of MC that Debbie sent me. It is sooo expensive. I nearly had a heart attack when I walked into our little MC store that opened here in Southampton. And the sales people were so... aloof, I am being kind! I asked if I could take a few pics for my bloggy friends, and they said, I could stand on the sidewalk and take them. As I am a taxpayer here, I told them I didn't need their permission to do that! So I won't be going back!
Anyway, I love your display, of black and white, and thanks for linking to Let's Dish!
