It's all about PUMPKINS

Hi, ya'll
I hope this is going to be a SUPER week for everybody.
All is well here at Sweet Nothings....
the weather is still really nice and, altho we could use some MORE RAIN,
we are TRYING not to be greedy. :)

I've had this pretty pumpkin plate for several years...
long enuf that I don't remember just where I bought it.

I love sunflowers and I think that's one thing I love about the plate....
I've been playin' with my VINTAGE, dining room  mantel again.
Needed some FALLNESS, don'tchaknow.
I just adore little BOO pumpkins.
....just look at all the curlyQ stems....I LOVE that....

and, little ORANGE ones, too.

This is "watercolor" in
photoscape.

I get such a kick out of that place.....so many neat things you can do with a plain, ole photo.

That cute little vintage chair was given to me by my sweet girl, STACY.

Big brown ceramic, little white ceramic and
ONE REAL ORANGE.....gotta just love this time of the year.
...if i could only paint, I would paint this on a long, large canvas
and hang it in my dining room.......
one of those "yard long" paintings, ya know......*sigh
I wonder........?
Could I have this photo enlarged someway....
would it still retain this misty quality I love so much on my photos...??

When I pick out little Boos, it's all about
THE STEMS.....:)
On this day, I played....and tweeked.....and took a nap....and played some more....
I kept my VINTAGE white plates on the wall....
they go with EVERYTHING.

...this looks just like a real, dried SUNFLOWER...

and it's just a fake as it can be.

I really love fauxs that look so real.

Funny how much better it looks, spelled FAUX than FAKE.
:)
I bought this little wooden box just today at the thrift store....50 cents.
I luv little wooden boxes.......especially when they have a little rope handle
and WORDS.
POCAS...???
I found a Pocas Wine online....but can no where find a photo of this little box.
I'm not sure if it's VINTAGE....but it's..........just CA UTE.......!
I made this wreath last year
(look how bottom-heavy....better adjust that)
and it was kind of a funny story.
and these cute little ceramic BOOS came from the Dollar store a couple years ago.
"Peter. Peter...pumpkin eater...."

Most of the time, the only ORANGE I use is PUMPKINS,
FALL LEAVES, real or faux and
HALLOWEEN CANDIES....yumo
The vintage plates on the wall...
the wreath I made...
the brown pumpkin....
all these things were fun to work with.
I was just having fun with FALL and hope to have a whole lot more!

Thanks, ya'll, for stopping by.
I love you to pieces.

  3. Now I often learn something new here. Today I learned that little white pumpkins are called "boos." We don't seem to have little white pumpkins in our corner. We have a variety called "lumina" that looks more creamy than white. Your mantel looks fantastic as always.

  5. If you go to ie..shutterfly and down load your picture...fix it like you want it...if it won't work because of the pixels...it will tell you.

I love pumpkins...they are all over my place!! I am not familiar with the ones with the curly stuff on the top.

Love your cheese round thingy....I am going to get one of those eventually....and I am with you, if it has sunflowers...I love it!

  10. Love all your fall goodness. I have not seen those long curly stems on the boo pumpkins here. They must all get broke off before they put them out here. Now I will be looking for ones with cool stems.

  17. Hi BJ-
love your fall mantel. I like the 3 little pumpkins too!

I bet you paint them. I've been thinking of painting a little too. It would be nice to see what you can create. I think I could do...but I just never have. Well, not in a long while...only just dabbing in the paint.

    ...I ramble. :) Pat

The photo of the white pumpkins (the one you wish you could paint) is amazing. I love the subtle shadows. I am packing my art things to bring down here when I go home next week. 29. All, so pretty. And fun to do. :-)

I'm not into orange in decorating either. But this time of year, it seems to just fit right in. :-)

Aren't we interesting creatures? We adapt. Though some of us would never introduce orange into decor, the rest of the year, NOW it FITS. :-)
