WAFFLES, BABY

SOUR CREAM PECAN WAFFLES
                              O HONEY
The addition of SOUR CREAM makes these waffles so light...and fluffy.
The addition of PECANS just makes for....SCRUMPTIOUS

A cute little vintage, gold rimmed pitcher for syrup.

Mr. Sweet loves a LOT of syrup on his waffles...

and I love little vintage, gold rimmed pitchers....

I haven't done a BLACK and WHITE table in quite awhile..
must be about time for one.
I am very poor and just don't have all that many dishes...
so I have to use the same ones over and over.
Well, it actually is pretty fun to have to THINK about what you might do
with the same old dishes..
It's pretty fun when I can come up with something a little different than my others.
We are not a fancy cottage here...at all.
I have no fancy dishes or glasses...
what you see at Sweet Nothings is what you get. :)
I am sure enjoying my new flatware from Horchow.
NOW, I know you MIGHT be thinking that
"if she is POOR, how does she shop at HORCHOW?"
WELL, YOU SEE....
they had a big sale and I had a gift code full of wonderfulness and....
I've been wanting the HOTEL set.
They are all mismatched (on purpose) and I adore that look.....
OH, yes...I am totally in love with them.
They are nice and heavy...a great quality set
and I am very happy.

You know, sometimes it's the LITTLE things in life that gives us such a thrill.....just to be ALIVE !

NOTE: I've been asked what kind of camera I use.
It is a simple point and shoot and a very inexpensive one, at that..
I have a brand new camera that I've not tried out yet.
Need to read all the instructions and then I'll use it.
It's also a point and shoot...

I love Strawberry Jam on my waffles..
Mr. Sweet can't believe that a person would even THINK about
using jam instead of SYRUP..
He thinks you are just SUPPOSED to use SYRUP...
it' like....WRITTEN IN THE COSMIC THINGS, ya know?
...not ALWAYS, Mr. Sweet, and NOT all people want syrup..but YOU can have all
the syrup you want........

I am joining in with

Hope you will all visit some of these great memes going on.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Love,
bj

I love the waffle recipe bj...waffles are always my favorite food. I couldn't tell if that is a new waggle cooker or an old one, looks wonderful! :D

I'm with Mr. Sweet. Jam is for biscuits--preferably buttermilk biscuits. Syrup is for everything else. Your waffles scream SYRUP!!

My husband remembered the name of the department store. Hemphill Wells. Does that ring a bell? And, for a special occasion, I loved shopping at Margaret's downtown and having lunch at the Crepe Suzette.

Best,
Bonnie

Will try these, BJ. We love waffles around here.

These look so good it makes me sad that we got rid of our waffle maker a few years ago! Yup, we just didn't use it enough to keep it around, and now I'm sad:>(
Love the flatware from Horchow, it looks so pretty!

What pretty new silver ware.. Sweetie you are RICH in all the important things and we are all RICHER for having you in our lives. That smile you offer us is one on the great tresures.

Oh...these are tasty looking, BJ. My hubby has his very own waffle maker and won't let me use it. He makes the best, but I'll slip this recipe in! The sour cream sounds perfect. And I like strawberries and whipped cream on mine!!

Love your new silver...I can't bear to see it at Horchow or I will buy some, too. I am a sucker for silver!!

Let's see that new camera!!

XO,
Jane

The waffles look delicious. Waffles are my dad's favorite...and he insists that EVERY little square is SUPPOSED to be filled with butter and syrup. That's what they're there for!

Oh those look so good! I love my waffle maker. I have 2 so I know how you feel! Lots of butter and syrup is for waffles. My kids do like jam on theirs too. I have had my eye on that hotel set too! It is just so gorgeous!

Mmm, waffles. Looks delicious. Tell Mr. Sweet that my husband puts blackstrap molassas on his waffles. Looks nasty to me.

I'll eat them with either! They look delicious. And you are not poor!

When I eat waffles, I just want the plain old fashion kind, with butter and maple syrup. Nothing fancy for me.

I think I will pull out my waffle iron and use your recipe this weekend! Sundays are perfect for waffles!

Oh my, those waffles look delicious... and for the record, I like both jam and syrup on my waffles.... and really butter. I know, it's extreme, but I just love them this way. The recipe looks so good. I will try it.
I thought that those forks were old silver in the photos with the black and white napkins. Hotel ware is great stuff. I love the look of it. If you got a good deal at Horchows, good for you. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and buy what you really want. They will have lasting meaning to you. They're beautiful.

Funny that you mention black and white tables because I actually associate you and another blogger (Hyacinths for the Soul) with classic black and white tables for some reason.

Loving you sour cream waffle recipe. I'm not sure we've made them that way. I say that because waffles are a specialty of the husband and not me. I think he wants to marry his waffle iron too.

bj, my MIL gave me her waffle iron years ago and I enjoyed making waffles for my family while my son was growing up. I need to pull it out for home made waffles for my grandson. Your recipe looks delicious and I'll plan to make waffles Labor Day weekend when everyone is here. I love your new Horchow flatware. Like you I love the mix of patterns in the set.
Hope your weekend is great.

You know, I hardly ever have waffles! We don't have a maker and I never grew up eating them much. I love French Toast though!!

Yum-Yum!! These look wonderful & I will try your recipe next time the g'kidlets are here.

I have a make-ahead waffle recipe with yeast that you do the night before. It is SO nice to wake up, add 2 more ingredients & start pouring them into the waffle iron. I'll do a blog post about it soon & share that recipe for you to try. I KNOW you'll love it, as it comes almost like Belgium waffles, they are so light.

I agree with what Sonny said..."you are RICH in all the important things and we are all RICHER for having you in our lives."
Thanks for the recipe!

Rett
