Fantasy Garden

As most of you know by now, we are still having one of the worst droughts in
TEXAS and other states....
and, word is....IT'S STILL HOT !
The top photo was taken in my backyard LAST YEAR... so pretty !
THE BOTTOM....pitiful....this is how it looks THIS year.
No rains, no extra water to use on lawns and plants.
If you DO use much water, they charge you thru the nose.
REALLY EXPENSIVE to use more water than just needed for the household.
Since SOCIAL SECURITY frowns on asking for
MORE MONEY TO WATER,  :(
our consumption is held to a bare minimum.
So, rather than stare at the brown grass and dead flowers and sink into a DEPRESSION...
I am posting a rerun of last year..with NEWNESS added in, here and there...
so that it makes it fresh and new...well...newER..:)
I've used the same photos, mostly....
but changed up the wording to fit the current time..

.
MY FANTASY GARDEN
Why NOT gather market FLOWERS and BLOOMS..?

Don't you adore that we can play and pretend and daydream here in Blogland ?
I DO....I JUST LOVE IT...
Actually, I am pretty sure IT'S GOOD FOR THE SOUL !...
especially when you are in the middle of a terrible DROUGHT
and you have NO flowers or blooms out there in that
BROWN yard.
So,
I say YES !
to gathering REAL and FAUX flowers around you for
COMFORT

THESE MAKE MY HEART SING....
....they are MAGNIFICENT !

*HEAVY sigh....aren't they so beautiful?
How can ANYONE doubt there's a GOD when HE sends us  something this lovely to look at ?
HE sends us the GREATEST gifts,
ALL THE TIME...
These faux, silk tulips look fabulous....
until they go up beside THE REAL THING !!
:))

Fresh flowers....fresh fruits...
faux flowers...faux fruits...
It matter NOT when they bring you happiness and joy..
and all this beautiful color and texture is definitely
GOOD FOR MY SOUL
THIS ORIGINAL post was published around EASTER of last year.

Can't help it....this is one of my favorite
CHOCOLATE BUNNY jokes..
:)

sooo, of COURSE, I added my faux CHOCOLATE BUNNY
YEP..I really am missing digging in the dirt and
taking a stroll around SWEET NOTHINGS to admire my blooms .
I KNOW
this, too, will pass.

So, until our Heavenly Father decides it is time for
PRECIOUS RAIN out here for us,
I will content myself with my store bought flowers and my fauxs.
*PRAISE to Heavenly Father..HE sent rain on 8/11/11

HAPPY GARDENING...
even if it IS with fauxs and....
INSIDE !!
For me...
I'll do JUST FINE with my photos of my beautiful
KNOCKOUT ROSES
from LAST year.....

 I am joining:

WOW ME WEDNESDAY
GOOD LIFE WEDNESDAY
WHITE WEDNESDAY (using my little WHITE pitchers here)

is there a

am  thankful for all things. !

Beautiful, indeed! And, you are right, playing is good for the soul...whether it is setting a beautiful table for one (or two or more) or taking close ups of those things we love. I love coming here because it always makes me smile. I'll say a little rain prayer to God for you...but last time I said one for this area there was a flood...shall we take the chance anyway?;>) xo Diana

You have the drought and we had tremors 2 times here in NC from the earthquake in Virginia. What's with Mother Nature this year. Don says she's hormonal....lol.....Beautiful photos no matter when they were taken.

All your flowers are so pretty, BJ, I don.'t care if they are from past years. It is still very hot here too but we finally had a sprinkler installed in the back and had the ones in the front fixed....Chistine

I will go outside and do an ancient rain dance for you passed down from my ancestors. Send bail money though! It needs to be done completely nekkid! I do hope that you get some rain soon though!

The inspiration post will be up on Sept 1st. Can't wait to see who you bring!

Oh your poor yard! The silver lining is you must ot have to mow, and you might as well look at the silver lining as the brown grass right? It is just like you to find something beautiful to keep your spirits up:>) I love that about you! Still praying for rain.....

Oh you are very good at playing and I love the storm going on in here. I'm so sorry about your yard. Still praying for rain. Soon. So that you can go outside and dance in the rain...we will want photos of that.

No rain and those temps......terrible.

Still no rain? I have been saying a little prayer every night for all of Texas in this drought. We have been so lucky.

Love the pictures of all your flowers. Since you probably have stayed indoors with this heat. at least you have something pretty to look at and play with!

XO,
Jane

Your audio sounds a lot like the weather we had here yesterday.
I wish I could send you some of our cool and moist weather - and I hope you'll soon see an end to the drought!

Your audio sounds like the storm we had this afternoon. Wish we could send you some of out waterworks...
We lived through a major drought in TX...and even here in FL. Praying that you receive the needed rain soon...

Oh my goodness. You ARE in the midst of a drought. We had way too much rain this spring, then a few weeks after that we needed rain. I think we are pretty good now. In fact it rained last night and lit up our bedroom several times with lightening too! Praying you get rain soon!!!
Blessings~

I know that the drought is bad down there! It is hot and dry here to but we have had a few good rains! Still, our lawn is crispy and the only things green and blooming are right next to the house out of the HOT SUN!

Your photos are all so gorgeous! You have the most gorgeous EVERYTHING!

Have a blessed day dear BJ, HUGS! Praying for rain for you all down there!

Like you, I view blogs for inspiration (hey, I never thought of that cool idea, which I can so do) or fantasy (beautiful, but too much upkeep)
I pray for rain in Texas.
In central VA, we had earthquake yesterday, smoke from fire in Dismal Swamp today, and hurricane this upcoming Sat. Life is full of adventures.

Hello bj, your post is lovely and I love the faux flowers. Shame on the decorator that says faux flowers are out. There is always a place for some lovely flowers real or faux. So I really loved your post today. You have a way with photos my friend that makes most of us very envious. I mean it!

I am sorry about your poor yard and garden. I pray more rain will come your way soon. It sure sounds like rain. HA!
Love, Jeanne xo

BJ! I just saw your litte popovers... so cute!!!! Did you whip them with your mixer for 7 minutes? Anywhy, the ones on your plate look great. And don't they taste good too. I broke the leftover popovers open and toasted them in the toaster oven the next morning. YUMMY!
Oh a drought is a terrible thing! As is triple digit heat. I pray for rain too!
You are the most darling gal!!!!

Nice post, and I hope you get more rain (and I hope we do, too) - but your situation is much more severe than ours. Take care of yourself, BJ, and have a wonderful week!

BJ, I love your fantasy garden. We are in a drought but not near as bad as yours. Two years ago, we were within a hair of rationing water, though. The governor had even suggested folks not flush when going to the bathroom each time...it was that bad. I hope you get rain soon!
