♫♪♪...hopping down the bunny trail

hippity hoppity ...Easter's on it's way...♪♫♫
I still just love this little thrifted, vintage cup and saucer..

I can still feel the excitement of
EASTER EGG HUNTS
when I was a little girl.
I didn't have a sibling until I was almost 10,
so all MY Easter's up until that time were spent with
COUSINS.
I my cousins.
By the time my little brother came along,
we had moved away from most of the extended family...
I was older but it was so much fun hiding the eggs for him.
THEN, of course when our children came along,
they had lots and lots of cousins to hunt the luscious eggs with.
MY cousins and their families lived far away (due to my parents divorce..a child loses a lot of family)
but, thankfully,
Mr.. Sweet had a brother that had 3 children,
three sisters with 12 children between them,
so there were many cousins, all close in age, to play with.
SO MUCH FUN..
Our grands, all 10 of them, were so much fun to hunt eggs with.
Of all the hollering and whooping and running and laughing and eating and .....
well....
it was LOTS OF FUN.
(...french toast ..strawberries...maple syrup...pecans)
Just make your toast the way you like and add ANY good thing to it..
Then, serve it up on a little  thrifted vintage plate... .ummm
I just HAD to add this photo of my quilt in my EASTER post..
It just LOOKS like EASTER to me.
PhotoScape fun...

....just some funky things you can do with your photos
in PHOTOSCAPE....
and it's free !!
HAPPIEST EASTER...
1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...

Deepest love to all,

  2. Very pretty post.

Hope your weather news is a bit better. Although I kind of doubt it. Still no rain in sight, I don't think.

Everyone be very, very careful! You will be of course. I mean others.

    Gentle hugs,

  6. I just caught your joy in the thrill of the hunt myself. My daughter is handling the details so I can handle the camera.

Isn't it great for children to have cousins? I love mine and I had a little sister. My kids love theirs and I'm happy to say that a little cousin has just joined my grands, though on the other side of the house. It's all good...

Your Photoscape does all that? I haven't found all that yet. Pffft...

  7. We never hunted for eggs when I grew up, but we had an Easter basket full of eggs and candy sitting on the dining table Easter morning. We could eat an egg before church, but we had to wait to come back home for the candy!

  12. Sweetest post BJ...beautiful memories...I had dozens of cousins to hunt Easter eggs with when I was little and when my babies came along I would get the biggest lump in my throat watching them hunt for the eggs and then years later we bought the plastic eggs and they would hide those in the house for weeks after Easter! lol Now with the grands it is just such joy to watch my grown babies hide the eggs for those little dumplings...I don't know who has the most fun...the grown-ups or the grands...Happy Easter to you sweet girl...may it be filled with much love and happiness...Picket

I just saw your note asking me about my weight loss...I joined Weight Watchers on line the first of the year..their new points system...I am loving it and loving how it has given me control over what I eat and still lose weight...still got a long way to go but I am so glad I started this journey...thanks for asking sweetie..Picket

  26. BJ, another sweet post. I always loved hunting for Easter eggs as a child, but I think I enjoyed decorating the eggs just as much. Baking cut out cookies, sitting around decorating them, dying eggs ~ all fun memories. Your post took me back in time. ~ Sarah

  34. Hi BJ,
We are sure praying around here for the Volunteer Firefighters and some from our area that have come to help fight the Wild Fires. It is just horrible destruction. Your family memories bring back so many memories and some still to be made. We love having The Family Hunt at Easter time, it is such a wonderful time of fellowship with family and friends. I always love a visit to BJ's house! Thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday and have a wonderful Easter. Hope to see you next week!

  37. Hi BJ,

I'm your newest follower! I have been looking at your blog for a while now, and it's so well done. Your pictures are so pretty, and your posts are always entertaining, and I can tell, written from the heart. I really enjoyed you story about siblings and cousins. I just have one sibling, but NO first cousins. My husband, however, has one sibling, and eight first cousins. It does make family gatherings fun. And I love my small family as well. Your Easter decs and pictures are so pretty, and your breakfasts always look mouth-watering! I am a new blogger (since January). I would love for you to visit my blog if you have a chance. I do tablescapes as often as I can, and my Easter tablescape is on Susan's TT (waaaay down at the bottom because I couldn't post til today). Have a Blessed Easter!

  38. Hi BJ! I also loved the Easter egg hunt growing up. Each year our family would get together at a park. My uncles would get there first and hide dozens of eggs. Everyone would bring food and we all had a great time. Your photos are beautiful and it looks like fun to play around with the photo effects. Thanks for joining my party, BJ!
    Hugs,
    Sherry
