THIS IS A RE-POST that I like to do at least once a year...
and CHRISTMAS TIME seems to be the RIGHT time of year
Some very good friends in our church group gave this CROWN OF THORNS plant to me several years ago.and CHRISTMAS TIME seems to be the RIGHT time of year
It was so small that it was planted in a butter tub.
It was soooo tiny. I've kept it in a sunny, Southern window, watered when dry, fertilized lightly so as not to burn it and FINALLY, it has a few, little tiny red flowers on it.
This all just serves as a reminder about our relationship with Jesus Christ...
The more we care for it, the more it grows into something so beautiful.
Just look at those wicked thorns !! They always make me think of the CROWN OF THORNS our sweet Jesus wore and it reminds me of all HE went thru for you and for me.
Just the thought of this brings tears to my eyes. I always...ALWAYS, feel I never give enough back to HIM.
Just the thought of this brings tears to my eyes. I always...ALWAYS, feel I never give enough back to HIM.
Such tiny little flowers and such HUGH thorns...
.I wonder if I keep putting it in a larger pot if it will continue to grow larger and larger; like the way HE puts us in different places in our lives that make us grow stronger in HIS spirit.
.I wonder if I keep putting it in a larger pot if it will continue to grow larger and larger; like the way HE puts us in different places in our lives that make us grow stronger in HIS spirit.
Every thing I've read about this pretty plant says the flowers will be tiny in size and few in number; like the Christians of God's great world.
We are growing in number by leaps and bounds. It just thrills me to death each time I see a new bloom on this plant...
the same feeling you get when you see a new Christian being born in the love of God.
I have the urge to give this plant twice the fertilizer it should have so there will be many more of the beautiful, red flowers. I'm afraid I'll kill it, tho, so I try to refrain from using too much.
Just like when I want to PUSH someone towards God but I know if I take it slow and easy, it will happen, through the Glory of God.
I do love this plant, thorns and all.......I do love our Savior, through the good times and through the bad.
Just to know, beyond A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, that HE is ALWAYS beside us...through those good and bad times, makes me want to try harder and harder to GIVE BACK more of myself to HIM.
...to walk closer with Jesus Christ is my goal EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Every spring, I move this pot outside and it just grows and grows...

This summer, my CROWN OF THORNS has been so beautiful..
As long as I nurture it...water...feed...trim...give it the right amount of light,
it continues to give me much pleasure...and it will, from now on, if I take care of it.
*
We have to nurture our relationship with Jesus..water and feed it...give it the right amount of light, in other
words,
WALK CLOSE WITH HIM...
and HE will continue to bless us more than we ever have imagined..
**
Please make it YOUR goal, too, to have a closer relationship
with our Savior, Jesus Christ..
Of all the things in this life and beyond,
HE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.
HE IS OUR ALL.

That is the sweetest essay on Christian love I have ever heard. I would have missed it if you hadn't reposted it BJ and it spoke to my heart dear. Thank you so much for gently telling so many people about our Lord and Savior. I always cry when I see a picture of our dear Lord with the crown of thorns.
Sweet BJ, what a fabulous write. Gorgeous photos, poignant words, great plant to remind one ... & that plant is a beauty.
Hope you had a joy filled holiday celebration.

I so agree...and that is the most unusual plant t, I have never seen one before! ;D
Beeej,
Thanks for posting such a wonderful post. We are so blessed.
xoxo
The thorns are huge, almost impenetrable. Yet, the small flower is reachable if we believe, if we have the faith to reach it. This is a metaphor about being a Christian, about how with faith and belief in Jesus and God much can happen. A beautiful little flower CAN thrive in a sea of thorns...
Thank you so much for reposting this beautiful writing on the Crown of Thorns. Beautiful Photos and Words. Enjoyed this read so very much....Sue
That is a wonderful story! You are so right, above all He is most important and the most important thing we can do in our lives here and after is accept and proclaim Jesus as our Lord and Saviour! I have never heard of a crown of thorns plant. Very interesting, thanks BJ!

Gorgeous! I love this plant and what it represents! A reminder of the pain our Sweet Jesus endured for us! I makes me have tears too! Love you my friend! HUGS!
Amen, Sister! How very well said - and lived!
This is a lovely post, BJ. You are an excellent witness to God's goodness and love.
BJ...this post really touched me my friend. I so needed to read them today. Thank you for sharing your heart with us all here in blogland and for coming BOLDLY before the throne. May you be blessed this day.

Bj, this is a wonderful share in pictures and also testimony. My real name is Jackie but I chose to use the nick name of Shinade because in ancient Gaelic it translate as...The Graciousness Of God...and It always reminds how fortunate and blessed I am that He loves me!!
Happy RT and Blessings to you!
Jackie:-)
Bj, beautiful plant and post.
I really love this, BJ. It's just perfect in too many ways to list. I thought about blabbing away about favorite parts, but I have decided to simply respond with an Amen.
So, Amen.
BJ, This is a wonderful post! Love your plant but love Jesus and your testimony more. You touched my heart today.
Blessings, Beth
LOve the crown thorn flower. I never heard of it. DO you grow it in the garden or planter's pot?
I love your header too. Do you do that in a special program?
Have a blesses week.
Nancy

Thanks for sharing a wonderful post. Beautiful photos too.
No matter how often you share a post, I never tire of seeing what you share. I love this post and the inspiring message it gives.
This was so inspiring BJ. I think a beautiful thing is happening in the family of God right now. A few weeks ago we had 80 people come forward to accept the Lord and 180 water baptism. My granddaughter was one of the baptisms. How beautiful. thanks for sharing today.

Beautiful post, BJ! The plant is looking so healthy, and I can tell how thrilled you must be every time it blooms. Don't over-fertilize it though. Speaking from experience, you definitely will kill it! Thank you for writing this very touching post.
Happy REDnesday!
Carol
Oh shoot ,I missed ya ! Where are you ?
What a green thumb you have with that plant !
Thank you for the prayers sweet BJ.
Lovely post and plant and you couldn't have set a better goal for yourself. Trish
Fabulous post. The plant and sentiment are wonderful.
We have a "crown of thorns" growing on our side fence. It's a different variety in that it has little white flowers in the spring and red berries in the winter.
That was beautiful, BJ. I think my mom used to refer to me as her crown of thorns! :)
Esta será una excelente página web, podría estar interesado en hacer una entrevista sobre cómo se creó? Si me lo e-mail!
