TAILGATING DONE RIGHT
by COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE...
by COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE...
I just fell in love with this awesome photo in their magazine...
and...I pretty much knew when I saw it that
I JUST HAD TO TRY IT...
*
Of course...I don't have a vintage , red plaid picinic basket...
nor a vintage to.die.for. cute thermos...
I can't tell you how many I HAVE had in the past, tho.
MR. SWEET used to take his lunch in the old, metal lunch boxes with their own thermos..
WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?
*
but....COUNTRY LIVING just may not have a
vintage blue wicker picnic basket, either...
*
I used the BLOOM effect in PHOTOSCAPE on this photo.
Just having fun with it all..
*
MR. SWEET just loves it when I use food in my
photo shoots....:))
The weather is perfect...
not too hot....
not too cold...
Just enuf time to make another run to your park..
or a ball game...or to the lake...
and have a good, OLD FASHIONED tailgating...
XOXO

I am thrilled to be playing with

We can call it a TAILGATE SCAPE....

Very nice! I think you captured that perfectly. Sherry
I love it BJ-perfect! How fun to use your pretty blue basket, and I know lunch was great too:@)
Hi BJness! I love your tailgatescape. How's that for a word? :) Now my daddy worked in the oil field of west Texas (Odessa) and he had those tin lunch boxes with the thermos! I used to love to wash it for my mother! :) I was a little silly then too!
Now you know how I love your aqua blue picnic basket as I copied it adn painted me one! :)
Everything looks wonderful.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love it!t time we tailgated it was 8 degrees and snowing outside at a football last winter. Actually I think it was still fall LOL! My daughter borrowed a cocoa carafe (super size) from her boss and it took two grown men to carry the darn thing! We had fun with food and a bit of brandy and schnapps to warm our weary bones! Still lots of fun the same! Your tail gating party is sweet! Love that blue picnic basket! Hugs Anne
Well BJ, I am lovin your blog! I like your picnic lunch-scape BETTER than Country Living! You could be a stylist for the magazine.
And since I am new here, I must say that you two must have been married at age 10 to look so good on your 50th anniversary!
Thanks for visiting and leaving such sweet well wishes. I'm usually not such a whiner - must be the meds!
Love it, and we eat the same kind of bread! 100 cal 1 PT, LOL!
I have that basket but mine isn't painted. I love that you saw the mag pic and then went for it!
Great job!
I would do one from my trunk, but it is so loaded with treasures, there would be no room for the food! :)
Hi BJ! Lovely! I love tailgating, I love how at SEC football games all of the girls get all dressed up and wear hats and stuff, so ladylike! Love your little world here, so happy to be your newest follower!
Thank you, BJ, for stopping by my blog with those kind comments. Your blog is lovely, but I have to say the "Countdown to Christmas" made my heart jump:) I better start making a list!
Looks like a perfect picnic lunch. The tailgate looked amazing. Happy Rednesday.
Ann
Oh this is just too pretty, BJ. I love the red plaid blanket, so perfect for a picnic or in this case, a tailgate party.....Christine
I love this BJ!
Very nicely done---I like that you took the idea of this in your OWN artful direction, using what you have in your own stash of things. And it all works out perfectly.
Absolutely enchanting! Kudos to you. xoxo ~m
I saw it in the magazine...loved it. I remember my parents having the plaid metal thermos and this thing to hang over the seat that held the food.
As for Mr. Sweet being happy when you use food in your posts...isn't that always??? This one turned out really cute!
Great pictures! Love it.

You are so creative with food and compositions. Hope ya'll had lots of fun at your tailgate party!
Had to come and check out your tailgate party! Looks great! All ready for the party some where pretty. I remember the metal lunch boxes too. My dad had one during his working years. I should check and see if they still have it. I was just over there yesterday helping my mom with my dad so she could go to a meeting and run errands.
Happy Wednesday to you!
~Linnea
Wow that is pretty, I hope you got to enjoy that tailgate picnic...sure looks divine..Mica
Now wait... I like your tailgate photos better than the magazine... in fact I got confused for a minute and thought yours was a professional shoot from the mag! Nice job!!
hugs, Sherry
Well BJ, Yours is "magazine beautiful" too! They ain't got nuttin on you:) Love that picnic basket. I have two of those that I bought at an estate sale and I have been wanting to paint them. You inspire me. I bet Mr. Sweet really enjoys eating your displays when you are finished with the photo shoot:) Have a blessed day my friend! HUGS!
Beeeeeej! You sweet thing, you! I love the tailscape you put together. Let me know when and where and I can bring the chips!

What a wonderful tailgate picnic you have put together!! I loved that Country Living spread but I am thinking I like yours even better :)
Blessings!

I love every little cozy thing about this. Yours is just as pretty as your inspiration shot from the magazine too. I love that crock you used. It makes me think of apple cider.
And those flowers are pretty perfect too.
Now, I want to tailgate. Can't think of a place to go... but I want to do it nonetheless.
My poor husband is going to end up tailgating in the garage... I just know it.
Perfect B J!!! Simply perfect. And yes, I agree, the weather has finally turned for the better. Drier, and cool nights.

Good morning fellow Texan! thanks for stopping by my blog . I just have to follow you . My Grandmother use to make hot water cornbread Thanks for posting this recipe.Don't forget to link up your projects on my blog!
Perfect. Only thing missing is a 1953 red Chevy truck. Or a pink one. Actually it would have to be pink to coordinate with that pretty blue picnic basket.
I love your tailgatescape.
Great pictures!
Hugs
You could match them up with the photo's I took of picnic baskets at a British Car Show we went to last week. Lovely photo's.
WoW I want to come to your picnic! Made me hungry for pickles.
The weather has been great here too, cool in the mornings.
I want to try it too! How much fun you must have had!

Karin :)
Hey bj, Is everything ok? I haven't heard from you. I miss you girl.
Love you, Jeanne
I love everything about this post. I have tried to find our old picnic basket and I am afraid I must have given it away. It makes me so sad. Wish I had held on to some of those thermoses. Your blue basket is so pretty and so were your pictures. I think we will be going on a picnic this weekend.
BJ,
I get Country Living and liked that photo too. I remember when we did tailgate way back when. I have 2 thermos' in the cellar and was just about to give them to Goodwill because we do not use them. Maybe I will reconsider! I have my picnic basket too!
I do love your blue one...and your lunch looks fab. I think you did a wonderful job at capturing the perfect tailgating lunch! Bravo!!!
I think YOUR picture should have been on the cover of that magazine, it looks fabulous:-) I was looking at all the food you have there and my own tummy was rumbling! I so remember the tin lunch boxes with its own thermos...we really should have kept everything we owned back then! lol xoxo
What a great talgatescape! I bet your hubby does love the food in your photos (bet he enjoys the feast afterward!)
Your version rivals that of the Country Living photo! Very fresh!
I think yours look wonderful. Far better than the original photo.
