OUR FIRST LUNCH...

after getting home from our ALASKAN cruise.... it was almost lunch time...
*

..and believe me when I say MY CUBBARD WAS BARE...

Not much of anything in the pantry...NOTTA in the fridge much...

Way too tired to want to go out to eat....

so.....we just MADE DO..
*

Egg Noodles, buttered, garlic salt, pepper...
Hot Dog buns toasted....
THIS is commonly called a PORE MAN LUNCH...:((
*****
I must REALLY love ya'll to show you how we eat sometimes....
we're just so dang proud to HAVE something to eat..it just doesn't bother us.
*
Now, just 'cause we had a pitiful lunch didn't mean
that I couldn't have iced, SWEET tea in a pretty CHAMPAGNE glass, did it ?
*
ahhhh....you might know that I was going to have DESSERT...
*
Nothing at all wrong with a cup of DUNKIN DONUT coffee, with a scoop of ICE CREAM
and Fudge Thumbprint Cookies, right out of the freezer...
BUT....WAIT....SOMETHING IS MISSING HERE...
*
AHHHHH....that's IT...
WHIPPED CREAM with a sprinkling of NUTMEG and a tiny bit of CINNAMON
*

YES, MA'AM.... not a bad way to end ANY kind of meal, if you ask me...
just say'n......

Linking with TABLESCAPE THURSDAY and FOODIE FRIDAY
My thanks to SUSAN and GOLLUM

I can't count how many times we've had a similar meal...sometimes it's good to just eat whatever is there. But I LOVE that drink, actually both looked really good to me!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

  35. Glad you made it back safely from your cruise. I have been in your position before, empty shelves and frig. I hate going to the grocery store. I could not subject my birds with the kind that enjoy barnyards.

  39. Ice cream in my coffee? I'll try that! I often toast extra buns...we can never eat an entire package and if I freeze them, I forget them. Looks okay to me:)

  42. That may be called a poor man's lunch but it looked delicious. I believe the dessert is the rich man's. Alaska is a great place to beat the Texas heat. I hope you received some of the rain this week.
