VINTAGE THINGIES THURSDAY...

This is my FIRST time to play at
VINTAGE THINGIES THURSDAY with SUZANNE over at
COLORADO LADY..
when you go over to see HER vintage things and leave sweet words for her,
she will have a list of others that would LOVE for you to come by....
and THANK YOU for coming to see me today..
*
*
................do YOU have more PITCHERS than I do ??
*
How in the world did I acquire SO many pitchers ??
Most of them are ANTIQUE or at least COLLECTIBLES ......

THIS is the little beauty that started it all...
An Ironstone pitcher my mother gave Mr. Sweet and I
for our 10th anniversary....almost 40 years ago !
(Gosh, that makes Mr. Sweet OLD)
*
This little polka dot beauty is my NEWEST one..
all the way from LITTLE RED HOUSE...
Again, my thanks, MARY...I just love it !
*
LIBERTY BLUE...
I'M IN LOVE !

if you don't know the story behind LIBERTY BLUE DINNERWARE, you can google it...
*

Vintage cruet from my Great Aunt Betty....
my namesake ......
*

My mom's...it is so beautiful and guess where she got it....
WOOLSWORTH 5 & DIME...in the 30's.....
PRICELESS !
*

The blue beauty on the left is VERY olden and from my aunt..the lighter blue one is a thrift store find ...

*

It seems to be my WHITE IRONSTONE and other WHITE pitchers
that is growing by leaps and bounds...
I don't go LOOKING for them...they just seem to be every where...
and I could never....NEVER.... just leave one at that ole dusty thrift store !!
no siree....!! The little one, in front with the band of stripes...always has reminded me of Aladdin's lamp..
*
"Come on....come home with ME, little white pitchers...
there's brothers and sisters waiting for you!"
*
(i am almost ashamed to say that THIS isn't all....)

*

My favorite of all...and very VERY OLD...
from my AUNT LILLIAN....
remember ?...
I would whole lot rather have my AUNT LILLIAN than this ole pitcher !!
***************************************************
Aren't COLLECTIONS fun....? ......even when you didn't really
mean to START a collection at all !! Just maybe they are
the most fun of all...?

  26. Well BJ...when you live as long as we have you can't help but have a BIG collection of anything, right? So I guess the bigger the collection gets, the longer we will live and that's a mighty good thing to collect...life years! When I tease Mr. Bo about being soooo much older than me he says, "Yeah, but I don't look it!"...that ol' fart! Hugs, ;-) Bo

  34. BJ, I love all the vintage you shared today. It just speaks to me. Your white treasures are awesome. I love that white stuff too. I don't have much of it though. You better lock down those gorgeous things. I have an Aunt Lillian too. She is still alive and way up in her eighties. She is in MI. so my visits are way to few. Her pitcher is beautiful. You are so lucky to have such a treasure as a memory.

Have a happy day my friend.

    Hugs...Jeanne

YOu sure do have a lot of pitchers..I do know what you mean about not being able to leave in a store something you collect. Thats how it starts. You start to fancy something and it just grows...dont' I know it!
I love all yours. The white ones are so pretty..and the one that looks a lot like a gravy one. Very pretty. Well as long as you have room..unlike me..*sigh*.
    keep collecting.
Hope you've had a chance to put your feet up a bit.
    have a lovely day

  51. Hi BJ - Your pitchers are gorgeous. I love pitchers, too, and have quite a few. My grandmother collected little pitchers. She had lots of them and they were divided up when she died so each of us girls have some of her little ones. I especially loved her teeny, tiny ones! Thanks for sharing yours with us. ~Adrienne~
