DEED'S DAY AT THE PARK....

We were having the most BEAUTIFUL Autumn day and DEED'S was over for a sleep-over and
A DAY AT THE PARK WITH MEMAW..
the twins, Andrea and Bailey, had a ball game to go to...
Brynna had a motorcycle race to go to ...
SOOOO.....
I said, "HEY, Deeds......you wanna have a PICNIC?"
and she said, "OH, YEAH...where's the BLUE PICNIC BASKET?"
And, I said, "Why it's right here, on this cabinet...just waiting to be filled up with good things to eat at
THE PARK !!"
she grinned !!

I said, "What kind of sandwich do you like the very best in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD ?"
and she said, "P B & J." (hi, Rue)
....................."BUT", she said, "I like CHEESE second best !"
and, so it was we had PB&J AND Cheese.....OF COURSE...i mean, they ARE her favorites, after all!!

She said, "Can I help, Memaw?"
and I said, "Are you kiddin' me?....I NEED your help, thank you very much!"

She packed that bag with chips before I could get the sandwiches put together.....
and then just waited for me !! Ain't she sweet !!!

She packed GRAPES.... the girl knows how to picnic, i'll tell ya....

THEN....got all smiley when we decided to take along COOKIES to have with our GRAPES...
a mighty GOOD DESSERT....

She worked HARD, sucked in that lip and really got after packing those COOKIES...
AND she made SURE we had PLENTY !! hee hee.....

Driving to the park, with a LOADED BLUE PICNIC BASKET,
we noticed a lot of the trees were getting into their Autumn clothes...so pretty....

BUT, THEN....we saw this HUGH, WHITE GHOST just hanging around in a neighbor's tree...
Well,of course we wanted a picture of THAT.....just in case no one believed us when we said
WE SAW A GHOST !!!!

When we got to the park, we found our picnic spot right away....
it was sooo pretty and just perfect... just perfect for that perfect picnic between a granddaughter and her Memaw....

We lay down a blanket and put a tablecloth over it and put down our "filled to the brim "
BLUE PICNIC BASKET...........

AND, I said, "DEEDS, sit down on that blanket, have one of those sandwiches with chips, have a glass of
FANCY PINK GRAPE JUICE, a cookie and grapes and I'll take your picture!"
"We'll treasure this picture someday...you and I eating, by this pretty little lake."
and she said,
"OK, Memaw..." and she got all posed up pretty for me..
and.........................

we had a great time anyway...but no pictures of the fun time playing on the playground....
oh, well, there's always another
DAY AT THE PARK....

hope you can have a good day 'at the park' soon.....

You're right BJ! That's our only hope right now. Your day at the park looks like so much fun. I've never heard of a pb&c sandwich. The view of the lake is so pretty. I'm sure you & DEEDS had a great time! When I was little, I liked pb & mustard. Kind of crazy, I know!

BJ, I can't think of anything more precious unless it will be it's equal when some day down the way your Granddaughter tells her granddaughter about the picnics she shared with you over their picnic lunch.
My son was only 2 when my Mom passed away, they were thick as thieves. I am always sadden that they didn't have more time together. She was a wonderful MeMaw and I cherish the pictures of the two of them and the memories I can share with him.

I don't know if that was the park out off the loop...but the fall trees look great. I think your 11 yr. old grandaughter was spot on! I have to admit...I ate a quart of blue bell ice cream.... as comfort food.

Your grandkids are so lucky to have such a precious gift of a grandma! They are going to grow up so well loved and so happy. I know my kids have such warm loving feelings for my mom because she took so much time to be with them. I'm sure your family appreciates how great you are with their kids. EVERYONE should have you for a grandma!!!! But I want to be first in line!

Hi BJ, Little Deeds is so adorable. I miss my grands so much. We will go back to Fl. weekend after this and this time we will go to Kissimmee to see my other daughter and the grands. I hope we can do something special.

You picnic is such a fun thing to do with your sweet Deeds. It is so cute that she wanted to help. I love the menu. Mostly the cheese. P & J is ok but I'll take cheese please. LOL. Now here is the problem, we want pics. You will just have to have another picnic. :) The lake is lovely.
