'HEY.....GOOD LOOKIN'.....
WHAT 'CHA GOT COOKIN......
HOW'S ABOUT COOKIN' SOMETHIN' UP WITH ME........."
HEY.....SWEET BABY.....
DON'T 'CHA THINK MAYBE....
WE COULD FIND US
A BRAND NEW RECIPE...." by Hank Williams

isn't this the CUTEST little photo ?

Here's another delicious recipe from

that you may want to try.....
In fact....you SHOULD try it ....
especially if you like

CHEESE
and
BREAD :)O)

CHEESE MUFFINS
they are so delicious.....
I love them so much I want to marry them!

You can find the recipe on her blog ...
along with many, MANY more fabulous recipes !

TIME FOR A CHOCOLATE FIX

When I get really...REALLY hungry for CHOCOLATE,
nothing, not even DOVE candy, (WHAT ??) will satisfy my craving like

HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE FUDGE ICING

I am thinking that I gave you this "Been in the family forever"
recipe but, just in case, I will give it to you again.

I don't want a single, solitary person to go thru this life without tasting the
BEST icing, EVER....

SO, it is my DUTY
to give you this recipe again !!!

NOW...., my mom always made it, and her grandmother before her, so I COULD be a little
prejudice....and it COULD be a COMFORT food for me.....
and COMFORT foods are ALWAYS the BEST...

but, it really IS good !!

(DON'T YA JUST WANT TO STICK YOUR TONGUE UNDER ONE OF THOSE BEATERS?)
*******************************************
MY FAVORITE CHOCOLATE ICING
1/4 Cup Milk
1/4 cup Butter
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
1 cup Sugar
**********************
Boil 7-8 minutes, remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon Vanilla.
Beat with mixer until thick, being careful to stop before it turns to CANDY.
Just beat until it is of spreading (or, even POURING) consistency
_________________________________
I find that, to cover a sheet cake with plenty of this good stuff,
THIS RECIPE SHOULD BE DOUBLED....
I always double it....

Our favorite dessert is just a plain, WHITE, box cake
with the FUDGE icing poured over it while the cake is still
WARM...

With a big, HUGH glass of ICY COLD MILK,
I am pretty sure this is what the
ANGELS IN HEAVEN
have for dessert ! ;O)

  1. That baby picture is so cute! I like to make the frosting recipe off the Hershey's Cocoa Can...only I add more cocoa. It turns out really rich and fudgey. Super Good!

There's a great recipe for Ham and Cheese bread in the old Betty Crocker Dinner for Two book that is fabulous.

I'll have to post these sometime.
    Hugs, Susan

  6. BJ...I know you've been known to eat a few live zebras...and that's okay...we can accept that little quirk about you because we love you....but under no circumstances are we gonna sit still while you boil that poor kid!

  9. Morning, BJ! My Daddy used to sing that song to me when I was a little girl. He's gone to be with Jesus now and you've brought back a sweet memory to me!

I love to eat, love the looks of those biscuits and I'm ready to lick the beaters! That was what my kids used to fight about ~ which beater they could lick the chocolate off of!!

    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  11. Good Morning Dear SWEET BJ!!
I have been perusing your blog and laughing at all of the funny little comments you have made. It's like being home again! I have already copied the chocolate icing recipe and I am going to try it this week. If it's from you, it must be the best...yummo! Can't wait to try it. Hope you are doing better since your 1 mile walk. Hang in there. I walk 3 miles a day and if you keep it up, you will soon be there too!I applaud your effort!
Also, I will be re-doing my bedroom next weekend. My girlfriend says my alter ego is coming out in my decorating style. It's going to be a big change, tans, creams, brown, very earthy and clean, more contemporary.I'll post it when I am done...I can't wait!
I am surprising my hubby who will be on a bike weekend with buddies down the shore. He's lived with the frilly stuff long enough!
Anyway dear, have a wonderful, beautiful day, and remember...
Count your blessings, one by one,
Then you'll see what the Lord has done.

  21. Congrats on your well-deserved awards. Thanks so much for that fudge icing recipe. That's the same icing my dear sweet mother heaped upon yellow sheet cakes. I never did get her recipe, and she's been gone for 12 years now. I am positive your recipe and hers are the same. I can't wait to taste that fudge icing again. Yum!
